Today, while visiting family in the Czech Republic, I was told on two separate occasions that I looked like a Czech TV star. Flattered, I asked what the TV show was called. Turns out there's a Czech version of 'Ugly Betty'. FML

Today, a cute boy told me I looked like a celebrity. Flattered, I asked who I resembled. He responded by saying that I looked exactly like Ugly Betty. He was serious. FML
Today, my boyfriend showed his mother photos of me. He told her that he thinks I'm pretty. She said that I look like a celebrity from her country (Korea). Flattered, I online searched this celebrity, and turns out she is a local porn star who's undergone multiple cosmetic surgeries. FML
Today, I was told I looked like Beaker from the Muppets. After doing a side-by-side comparison, I realized it's true. FML
Today, I was told I look like Susan Boyle. FML
Today, my mother and I got complimented on how we look alike. She's a German blonde and I was adopted from Vietnam. FML
Today, I was watching TV with my grandma. I said aloud, "Dang, that actor is hot." My grandma pointed out he was a spitting image of my cousin. I realized she was right, and that I may as well be attracted to my own cousin. FML
Today, I found out that even though my sister and I are identical twins, I'm known as "The ugly one". FML
Today, I found out that since there are 3 people with the same name as me at work, I'm known as "the ugly one". FML
Today, I turned on the TV just in time to see my picture on the news. I have no idea what they said about me. FML
Today, I had to explain to my teacher that Czechoslovakia is no longer a country. She kicked me out of class when she found out I was right. FML

Erm, guys.. "Czech version of Ugly Betty".. which means that someone else is starring in it, not America Ferrera.. but yeah, the girl is also quite pretty without the "ugly" make-up and styling

Yes, but they were saying that if the actress who played the "ugly girl" on the American version was actually good looking, the actress on the Czech version might actually be good looking too.

I think people are really just trying to point out that it's possible that the person they're comparing the OP to actually isn't ugly. Since A.F. isn't ugly in real life, perhaps the actress in the Czech Republic isn't ugly either, and therefore the statement isn't an "FML." Learn to think?
