Today, while letting horses out to switch pasture, one ran at me, sending me through the electric fence and into a mud puddle. Wrapped in electric fence, I sat in that electric mud puddle, screaming every time it shocked me. Help arrived, once they'd had a good long laugh. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was putting my horse away into her pasture, when I slipped in the mud. In a haisty attempt to support myself, I grabbed the electric fence in on hand, and my horse with the other. The shock from the fence traveled through me to her, sending her running and leaving me with 2 broken teeth. FML
Today, I was leaning over a fence in a pasture to get a closer look at something. Nobody warned my nuts that it was an electric fence. FML
Today, I went to my cousin's farm with my family. First I was pooped on by a goose, peed on by a puppy, bit in the face by the mother dog, fell through the floor of the barn loft, and without knowing it was electric, rested my hand on the horse fence. FML
Today, our electric horse fence broke. I turned it off so I could fix it. As I was grabbing the fence, my brother thought it would be hilarious to turn the fence back on. FML
Today, I got the worst electric shock ever, touching a wire that was connected to the electric fence only by a plastic isolator, made specifically to NOT conduct electricity. I still don’t understand how it was possible. FML
Today, my dogs broke through our electric fence, one of whom managed to get his collar off. I picked it up and, without thinking, went across the fence line. I screamed like a chihuahua being run over by a bulldozer. FML
Today, my horse farted and scared itself, then ran all the way up the hill and wouldn't stop until I fell off. FML
Today, while riding a massive draft horse, the horse thought it would be fun to walk under a very low apple tree that sat level with his back. A branch hit me and made me fall off onto a coil of barbed wire, twisting my ankle in the process. FML
Today, I let my dogs out, and then realized they didn't have their electric fence collars on. I ran inside to get the collars, then dashed out to put them on my dogs. I ran through the electric fence. The collars were on. FML
Today, I was sitting on a fence watching a friend play soccer. He accidentally kicked the ball at my face and made me fall off the fence into mud. I laughed it off and got back on the fence. Two seconds later he did the same exact thing. I fell wrong and slammed my face into the fence. Pain. FML

the fences are designed so they won't kill, although being in water is going to make a better ground connection which will make it hurt more and if you don't believe me touch a fence then take your shoes off and touch it again

I grew up with horses and used to grab the fence then dare my friends to grab the fence. It really doesn't hurt. However, one of my idiot friends recently peed on the fence and boy... that looked like it hurt. Hair stood up and everything.

I think what probably happened is he touched his wiener tip to it by accident while peeing on it. (which of course is probably one of the most sensitive parts on a male body.... I'm guessing)

depends on the strength of the fence. ours is strong enough to make the dogs yelp and the horses to stay away from it, I've touched it before on accident and it hurts enough to make you want to not touch it again, would be worse if had to constantly touch it.

I donno that's a good question. I mean I would think not but I guess it depends on the intensity of the power running through the fence. it's to keep her horses in not to hurt them so I would assume it wouldn't kill her but she did end up in water so yea I donno lol.

Those fences are made to just give a little shock whenever an animal touches it, to scare it away, preventing them from running away. The current isn't strong enough to kill you, but it hurts like hell!

It takes a certain amount of voltage to be dangerous plus it would be hazardous in rainy weather, so I'd assume the current isn't near high enough to cause harm. It's scary to be shocked by a fence, I was feeding a horse when I slipped and the current caught my hand. Kinda felt like intense vibrations.

electric fences are made to work in wet weather because it's outside, and even when it rains out, it doesn't effect the fence at all, or else it would harm the animals inside the fence
