Today, while I was working my shift at the store, my girlfriend appeared and asked to talk to me. Once we were alone, she burst into tears and started sobbing. Turns out someone's dad died in her favorite TV show and she wanted some comfort. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I walked in on my mom drenched in tears, barely able to speak. I ran to get her some tissues and a nice cup of tea to calm her down. After a few minutes of sitting in silence, I asked her if she wanted to talk about what happened. She watched an episode of Gossip Girl. FML
Whiter shade of pale
Today, my coworker said that she suddenly got the shivers. I jokingly told her that it meant she must be being watched by a dead person and made stupid ghost noises. She then told me it was the anniversary of her dad's death and burst into tears. FML

Today, I was trying to get drama students to attempt to make themselves cry. I was not having any luck, until suddenly a girl burst into tears, sobbing uncontrollably. I jumped up to applaud, saying what a wonderful thing it is to have such expressive kids. Turns out her grandma just died. FML
Today, I was rushed to the hospital because I was crying so hard I couldn't breathe. Why was I crying? My favorite anime character died. FML
Safe space
Today, my girlfriend got into a huge fight with her mom over the phone. After the fight, she looked ready to cry so I went over to comfort her. She went straight past me, and started confiding in her creepy, extremely expensive dolls instead. FML
Today, I took my girlfriend out for a romantic dinner, since we can't see each other this Valentine's Day. Halfway through, my aunt called, telling me my grandma had died. I had to leave because I was crying so much, leaving my girlfriend with a very pricey bill. FML
Today, I went into work and noticed one of my fellow colleagues had a large bunch of flowers on her desk. As soon as I saw her, I immediately said, "Happy Birthday!" Everyone went quiet. It wasn't her birthday; her father had died. FML

Today, my girlfriend is on her period. She hugged me, crying because she was going to miss me. Where was I going? To the store down the street and back. FML
Today, my girlfriend dumped me by text for another man while I was at work. While I worked the drive-thru, a customer noticed me choking back my tears and said "I'd be cryin' too if I worked your dead-end job." FML
Today, my girlfriend whom I'm crazy about broke up with me out of the blue. After pleading with her unsuccessfully, I called my mom for comfort and advice. She informed me that my dog had died. FML

You're telling me that you have NEVER cried at a movie or tv death?

I cried when Sophia died from "The Walking Dead" ): Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in some shows.

I cried when Dale's RV died.

That's certainly a dramatic response to a fictional person's death, but I can't say I've never cried over a character dying. When Hedwig and Dobby died in Harry Potter, I definitely shed a few tears!

53, How the hell did your earlier incorrect comment get thumbed up and your correction thumbed down? I don't think people even read anymore before passing judgement on here...

It's always sad when someone dies, even if it's just a tv show. :/ you're a good bf to console her at work.

She needs a life.

Just for fun later you should show up wherever she is at with depressed look on your face and tell her you need some comfort cuz she can't tell the difference between fiction and reality.

All of the people that are saying "Tell her to get a life." "She's crazy!" Obviously aren't human or are void of all emotion, because I can guarantee many, many people have cried at the death of a movie/television character. And even if you're like me and haven't, you should at least sympathize, because I'm sure the majority of you hypocrites have at the very least been upset about a movie/TV character's death. I came the closest to crying when I watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, and I'm not ashamed to say so. Yes, the hysterics were a bit much, but I can at least relate.

I sobbed like a baby at The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.

24 - There's quite a difference between crying during a sad point in a show/film, and going as far as to interrut someone at their workplace to be consoled over the death of a person who doesn't even exist.

46-I agree OP shouldn't have been interrupted at work, but people on here are acting like crying over a movie is stupid and unheard of.

60, Not at all, those comments never state she's crazy or needs a life because she cried over the death of a character. I took it to mean she needs a life because she took it so seriously she thinks it's appropriate to interrupt someone at work like a real person died. There is no denying her actions indicate a level of emotional instability, that behaviour isn't normal.

I almost did too during that movie.

That's not that unreasonable.
