Today, while housesitting my neighbor's dogs the phone rang. I answered it and a voice said, "Stop checking your Facebook and take care of my dogs. They look like they need to go out." FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I went to check if my neighbours were home to return their dog, having looked after her for a few days. I looked in the window and the place was empty. They'd moved house and stuck us with their dog. FML
Today, my neighbor let me know that they've been taking care of my cats while I was away, including letting them in and out of my house. I don't own a cat. FML
Today, I heard someone calling my name. It was my neighbor. Turns out they named their dogs after my mother, my sister, and me. FML
Today, while on vacation, I called my home phone to check the messages. Someone answered. FML
Today, I was babysitting for my neighbors. Their 5 year-old had finally fallen asleep at 11 after two hours of stories and songs. No sooner had I tiptoed out of the room did I realize that my phone had dropped out of my pocket onto the bed. It was ringing. It was their mother checking in. FML
Today, I found my dogs freezing outside. My neighbor was supposed to watch them while I was away, and on my way home I called to let her know she should let them have a quick walk. She thought I'd be home soon enough that she wouldn't have to let them back in. It was minus 10°C out. FML
Today, my pregnant wife paged my emergency line at work. Thinking she was in serious danger, I raced home and found her hysterically crying. When I asked her what was going on, she replied, "The dogs won't stop barking!" FML
Today, I came home to find a window broken and my neighbours searching inside my house. Apparently, they'd heard a small child asking for help inside my house. I recently taught my dog to "talk." FML
Today, my dog was barking at a squirrel in the yard. I opened the door to let him chase the squirrel. I went to look at the dead squirrel and found out it was the neighbor's chihuahua. FML
Today, my dog somehow figured out how to open the sliding glass door while I was taking a nap. I woke up to a text from my neighbor, saying, “Your damn dog is running around at the park annoying a bunch of strangers for food. You might want to come and grab her.” FML

57- I completely agree with you, and I'm guessing the spoiled ones are the ones thumbing your comment down. I have a phone that cost around $20 in American money, and all I can do is text or call. It took me a couple years to save up enough money for an iPod touch, and we have a fairly slow computer. No I am not complaining

Okay pretty sure OP never said they were getting paid. Don't jump to conclusions. They could have been dog sitting to be nice. I've had watch people dogs before and I've never gotten paid for it. So OP can get on Facebook if OP feels like it..

No, but they can't let themselves out, walk, feed, or get water on their own either. Someone has to do it unless you wanna go on vacation and come home to an animal cruelty charge.

I don't see the issue here. It's not the same as babysitting. If I had someone watching my kids, I'd be annoyed if they were on FB (unless the kids were asleep). But when I have dog sitters, I do not expect them to devote every minute to them. Unless the dogs were doing a major potty dance and were being completely ignored, I don't see a problem with checking FB.
