Today, we took an AP exam for Literature. One of the passages was about keeping in feelings in a relationship so that no one is "a burden". My boyfriend read the same passage and felt like he was a burden. I can't convince him otherwise. Thank you college board for endangering my relationship. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Irony on base level
Today, my boyfriend has been grumpy for days, because his essay on society's fixation with performance, winning awards and getting good grades got a somewhat disappointing grade. FML
Nice timing
Today, I took an exam in order to apply for a graduate program I want to get into. Last night, my boyfriend decided it was a good time to break up with me out of the blue. I broke down three times in the middle of the test, and I just barely failed it. FML
Today, I found out I've miserably failed a college exam. My friend had agreed to pass me answers if I needed them, since I've hardly studied this year. We were on the phone when she said, "Oh, those answers were bullshit. Serves you right, huh?" FML
Keep your enemies closer
Today, the night before an exam, I found out my boyfriend of one and a half years was cheating on me with a girl who has the same name as me. Not only that, I ended up consoling her for hours as she cried over him. FML
Today, my boyfriend jokingly said that if I didn't pass my exam, he wouldn't have sex with me for a month. I failed it, and now he thinks I did it on purpose. FML
Awkwaaaaard
Today, the professor I've had a crush on informed me that there's only one way left I could still pass his course. Thinking this was an attempt to flirt with me, I told him I'd do anything he could imagine. He then looked confused when he asked me to write an essay. FML
Love is…
Today, my boyfriend was reading me a poem he wrote for me. It was beautiful, and going really well… until he read the last line, which had a girl's name in it. It wasn't my name. My boyfriend said, "Shit, wrong girl", and dug through his bag for a different poem. FML
Today, I made a multiple choice exam so my friend could practice and get a good grade on his real exam. While I was helping him finish it, the teacher saw it, thought we were cheating and failed us both. FML
Today, I wrote my boyfriend a love letter during class and told him to read it when he got home. He texted me later asking me why I gave him my school assignment. I must have handed the love letter in to my teacher. FML
National bard
Today, my boyfriend asked me to write him a poem, as I am an avid writer. Happily, I agreed. After hours of working, I proudly presented it to him. He read it, laughed, and said, "No babe, I meant a real poem." Maybe I should rethink my career choice. FML

Well. I have to say that it isn't quite their fault. All the while, that sucks. It does. But just tell him some good things about himself and I'm sure he'll get all proud and he'll feel fine.

So... He's burdening you about being a burden but you don't think he's a burden but because he does it has become a burden in the relationship all the while he is burdened by feeling like he is a burden. Wow

I think you mean AP Language and Composition. I took that exam and that same passage was in it.

I can see myself feeling very worried after that. I have depression and social phobia so I already have those fears a lot. The most you can do is just reassure him that you care for him and you want him to talk with you. Over time hopefully it'll help

So, his feelings weren't a burden until he started thinking he was a burden, and then he, quite obliviously, started putting his feelings of inadequacy onto his girlfriend, thus becoming exactly what he feared. It's a terrible irony that insecure people are often self-centered.

Maybe he is and maybe you should.

Hey, I hope it all works out, but look at it this way.... He has feelings and is mindful of what a relationship means - sounds like a keeper to me

No, college didn't make him feel like a burden; he did.

Except for the whole thing of that's definitely NOT how a relationship works. A healthy relationship ALLOWS you to express your feelings without feeling like a burden. Burying feelings and not communicating are foundation blocks of an unhealthy relationship.

I know it's worded a little weirdly, but that's actually exactly what it said. "Keeping in feelings" or, basically, burying them and not letting them show.

I took this test! But it was on the AP language exam. Maybe they're similar. It was talking about talking about problems so they don't seem like they're really a huge deal and by talking to people too much about it you are putting them in a position where they have to feel bad for you. I didn't completely agree with the passage either.
