Today, we had a meeting at my job and we had to introduce new ideas to our boss. Earlier, I was talking to one of my close friends who also attended the meeting about my idea. As we start the meeting, she decides to steal my idea and take complete credit for it. My boss loves "her" idea. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
'Tis always the way
Today, I found out that my manager has been stealing my ideas. The worst part? He made me work overtime to complete the project that I originally proposed. FML
Today, I shouldn't have told my boss that I was interested in management. She now throws any problem she doesn't want to solve at me and either gets mad when I can't work it out or takes credit when I do. FML
Today, the CEO of my company wanted to meet with me. I was excited until I found out she just wanted to bitch me out and personally fire me. Later on, I found out my boss had totally shafted me and blamed the failure of a big project on me instead of admitting it was all his fault. FML
Commission demon
Today, on my second day at my new job, my supervisor told me that I was ready to make a sale on my own. Things were going well, until said supervisor interrupted my sales pitch, apologized on my behalf for being new, and stole my sale. FML
Today, I got in trouble with my boss for doing what she wanted me to do. I guess she didn't think I would do it, so she did it herself. FML
Tantrum
Today, I had a great idea for a group project at work, so I shared it with my team and my supervisor. They seemed to like it very much, except one guy in our group, who outranks me and who threw a massive temper tantrum because, “I didn't consult him first before sharing it.” This big baby makes 3 times my income. FML
Mr Boss Man
Today, my boss threatened to write me up, after I made a slightly rude joke about a coworker everyone hates. A while later, a colleague told me the same joke. Turns out my boss had gone around telling it to everyone else and taking all the credit. FML
Control
Today, my boss continued to orchestrate behind the scenes with my colleagues to make me look bad for her lack of organization. Then she showed up 10 minutes late to a meeting, shared that she needed a vacation, and realized that she needed to micromanage less. I've been asking her to make that change for months. FML
Grind mindset
Today, someone I work with embarrassed me in front of everyone in my job; because I wasn’t doing something the way she liked during our meeting this morning. I ended up crying in front of my boss. FML
Today, my boss asked for recommendations on how to improve the office. I sent her an e-mail full of my ideas. Later, my boss sent me a reply, saying, "Here's what head office thinks of your ideas." It contained a list of insults upper management made about me. FML

she is not your real friend

Hopefully she is now an ex friend. Cut her off, you don't need people like her in your life.

who deserves a nice swift kick to the ovaries

Confront her and make her feel really guilty about what she did. If she actually ever thought of you as a friend then maybe she will feel bad and fess up. If not, then you know not to trust her again.

I don't think making her feel bad would really do anything... If she was shitty enough to blatantly steal her close friend's idea... OP I think keeping your distance is the best idea. I might confront your boss about her stealing your idea if you are really upset about it. But then it's a "he said she said" deal and I don't know if you will really gain anything from that... Sorry OP.

Just goes to show you, there are no friends in the workplace.

Real friends stab you in the front.

90- Idk what friends you have but REAL friends don't stab you at all.

If they are co workers he/she can't really cut them off they are stuck with each other till one of the them quits, or gets fired.

thats not right. time for revenge against "her"
Brandi_Faith 34
Just make sure your revenge doesn't make you look bad at the office. You don't want to lower yourself to her level, but lowering yourself halfway to her level is fine. ;)
zsaddayz 16
Revenge against "her?" Is emphasis on "her" for some reason? Like your revenge will be to make she a HE

Remember, work friends are not your real friends.

They aren't? Oh no, my whole life is a lie! ...I think i'll go fake my death now.

My advice: Do it in a creative, artistic manner. Trust me on this.
NiceGuysDoWin 21
I don't necessarily agree with that. Some of my best friends are people I met through a job I had 10 years ago, even though none of us work at the same company anymore, we've all remained friends for a decade. There are real friends and 'fake friends' in every walk of life, regardless of where you meet them.
salvorican 24
There are just some things that can't be shared with a coworker no matter how close they are to you. You leave yourself open to be taken advantage of.

Start feeding her false ideas, and she will quickly learn to not steal credit.
YepThatsMeee 23
Or she will tell their boss how horrible ideas OP have (the fake ones).
Kittiecat511 14
Give fake ideas
sayyestothedress 24
Or she can steal the coworkers boyfriend and say that it's "her" boyfriend
Godsofdracos 15
Let your boss know, if he asks around and finds out, that's an integrity issue on her part and she could be terminated; that is, if it really bothers you enough to get a backstabbing friend fired.
igive 29
I would in a heartbeat. Betrayal is the worst.
MissCalendula 1
That's such a bad idea. The boss could think the OP is the one lying, or, even if he believes the OP, that would make him think the OP is childish.

Depends on how it is approached. Idea...point out that you worked hard to come up with a good idea that would advance the company, and that the idea was presented as their own by a coworker. That person is now being rewarded for something that they are unable to come up with on their own; it is not only theft from the company, but it discourages contribution from the capable employees in the future. Ask the boss how, in the future, you should claim your intellectual contribution when the credit is misallocated to someone less competent and ethical; by email, by phone, etc. If you mention this to another coworker, it's also entirely possible that THEY will mention to the boss that so-and-so is stealing credit for the accomplishments of others.
xivoricbutterfly 25
Im in a class for business and I literally just learned that you should never tell your ideas to anyone or they will take credit for it or try too
Acacia21 23
That's why even if you really want to share an idea, don't. You never know who you can trust... Sad but true. FYL OP.
