Today, trying to be a good role model for the kids behind me, I stopped and thoroughly checked both sides of the road before crossing. I still managed to get hit by a car. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I thought I'd be safe by looking before crossing a one way street unlike I normally do. Too bad I looked the wrong way and didn't see the car that hit me. FML
Careless and carefree
Today, when I crossed the street, I almost died because of a careless driver, but when I crossed it again on my way back, I got hit by a bicycle. FML
Today, I almost got hit by a car because the kid in the back who was wearing headphones was paying more attention to the road than the driver. He only just stopped her. FML
Today, while I was walking to class, I was hit by a car. The driver stopped to let me cross in front of her, started moving again, hit me, and then yelled at me, saying it was my fault for walking in front of her. FML
BIKES
Today, I was riding my bike down a road I know is quite hazardous. Having almost been hit in the same spot the day before, I rode across the intersection very satisfied without having been injured. Until I crashed into the guy front of me and flipped over my handlebars. FML
Today, while riding my bike on the sidewalk, I came across a ladder. To avoid bad luck, I swerved around it into the street. I got hit by a car. FML
Today, I was involved in a car accident. I wasn't the driver of either car. I happened to be a passerby that was hit by a falling stop sign as a car hit it. FML
Today, I was driving in stop and go traffic and passed two accidents in the process. I got nervous and decided to change routes to avoid getting hit. As I was trying to find an alternative route on my GPS, I rear-ended the car in front of me. FML
Give my regards to Broad Street
Today, I was about to cross the fabled Abbey Road street crossing for a photo. Like an idiot, I didn’t pay attention to the road. As I began crossing, a lady on her e-bike frantically swerved out of the way and ate the pavement. In front of 30 people. FML
Bye bye love
Today, I ran across the street due to a line of cars waiting for me to cross. Just as I reached the other side, my iPhone slipped out of my hand and fell into the road, just in time to get run over by multiple cars, one after the other. FML

Well, if the car came barreling out of nowhere it's not your fault. Hope you aren't hurt!

And now those kids will be too terrified at the image of someone getting hit by a car that they won't want to cross the street.

Why did OP cross the road? To get hit hard by irony!

Maybe op forgot that when you do see a car, you don't go

That happened to me once going down one of those 45* driveways, looked both ways and went down, and a car comes around the corner directly to my right, then an old women bitched me out for like the next 5-10 minutes while my friends stood off to the side laughing, lol.

Yeah, sometimes life just decides to hit you where it hurts...Well in your case, literally.

Did you look left, right, then left again? But that sucks OP, if the car came from nowhere. I'm going to assume this was the case.

op is from Australia, he needed to look right, left, right. And behind him if at an intersection.

The FML states that he thoroughly looked both ways.
NeatNit 33
something tells me that he looked both ways, decided it was 'safe enough' despite there being some cars around, and crossed anyway. some people forget the reason why they do something.

I find it unlikely (although it is possible) that Op looked both ways and crossed the street without there being any cars nearby. Unless the car came barreling out of nowhere really fast? But then wouldn't Op have been killed if the car was going that fast? It sounds to me like Op made more of a show about looking around than he put in actually looking around. I could be wrong, but it seems unlikely to me.

#14 Oh whoops, my bad! I must've glanced over it. Now that I think about it, I agree with #36 and #43.

Maybe it's time to go back to holding your mom's hand when crossing the street

How can people click the YDI button?!? It was obviously not OP's fault cuz he was just crossing the road. If the car came out if nowhere it's not OP's fault. But if the car was coming slowly enough for OP to see it, then it's OP's fault
Brandi_Faith 34
I think you're confused 49. You just asked how Op could deserve it, than gave an example of how it was Op's fault. I think you answered your own question. ;)

Sometimes, the world is still an asshole when you try and do right.

Those kids are probably too traumatized to cross the street now.
