Today, I had my first job interview. The manager asks me to sell him his pen. Thinking I'm all smart, I reenact the scene from the Wolf of Wall Street and say, 'Write down your name'. He calmly reaches into his drawer, takes out another pen and writes his name down. He then looks at me and laughs. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I went to my first ever job interview, in a totally stressed out state. The employer's first question was: "What's your name?" I forgot. FML
Uh oh…
Today, I had my first job interview in years. While I was waiting for the manager to come out I realized I had forgotten the resume that I had printed out the night before, since he specifically asked me to bring one. FML
Not a good sign
Today, I went to my first job interview. I didn't think I was doing too badly, until the interviewer said, "Wait a second, you're in high school?" I explained that the guy who'd called me had said that this wouldn't be a problem. I then watched as my interviewer left his desk to "deal" with him. FML
Today, I was in a café when a construction worker asked to borrow a pen. The only pen I had on me was my brand new Parker, which I reluctantly loaned him. As he was writing, he stopped to think, and happily chewed on the end of the pen, which he later returned to me, glistening in saliva. FML
MVP
Today, having just told me what a great job I've been doing, and how he'd really like to start giving me some more responsibility, my boss asked me if I'd sharpen a couple of pencils for him. FML
Honest work
Today, I went to a job interview. It was my last shot of getting a job before my savings run dry. It all went well until I was asked why I wanted to join the company. I got flustered and stuttered, "Because I um, I like money?" The guy gave me the most insincere "We'll be in touch." ever. FML
Falling at the first hurdle
Today, I went to a job interview super early and giddy with enthusiasm. While waiting in the lobby, I struck up a friendly conversation with a bloke who was also waiting around in a suit. I jokingly told him, “Good luck mate, but I’m getting this job.” Turns out he was the hiring manager. FML
M. Night Shyamalanadingdong
Today, I went to the bathroom after a terrible job interview. My interviewer walked in with another guy, talking about my interview, saying he was obviously going to hire the other guy because my odd-sounding name was too hard to pronounce, yet alone spell in multiple emails. FML
Lost in the sauce
Today, I went for a lunch interview for my dream job. The interview was great and at the end, I tried to seal the deal by complimenting my future boss. I said, "You're really hardworking. Do you always work on a Saturday?" He looked at me, smiled and then wrote something down. Today's Friday. FML
Today, I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. It was a man with a speech impediment, and I began imitating him. He was the manager of a store I applied at. He wanted to arrange an interview. FML

That's when you laugh it off as a joke, then sell him the pen.

Don't say that! Your Hogwarts letter might not arrive.

No it wasn't. The correct answer is to ask her questions a long the lines of "how long have you been in the market for a pen?" Or " what kind of pen are you looking for?". Then use her answers to try and sell her the pen.

^That wouldn't convince me to buy a pen at all.

He's buying a pen here, not a house.

"What kind of pen are you looking for?" "Oh I don't know, one that writes would be nice."

At least the boss laughed. Maybe OP made a fast recovery after his epic fail.

#13, you clearly haven't heard of the Alcubierre Drive. Read a science journal.

Might if been better if he compared the pens and gave reasons why the one he wants to sell is superior, or just try to sell him a second pen.

Hey if it's a pen they'll be writing their name with, they're going to want one that looks good when doing so. Like the gel point or fine tipped pens. If you got a business going you'll want an impressive signature :D

He probably got the idea from the movie so he came prepared in case anyone tried to imitate that exact scene. He was looking for creativity.
