Today, the water company found that a water main has been leaking steadily possibly for decades and has turned the land my house is built on into an underground bog. Cracks have been appearing in my walls for a while, apparently because my house is slowly sinking into it. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found out that the peaceful rain I'd been listening to all night was really a broken water-main flooding my entire yard. FML
Today, we woke up to two inches of water in our finished basement, which my wife and I use it as our bedroom. The plumber found roots in our sewer line. The kicker: we just bought the house four days ago. FML
Like what you've done with the place
Today, I came home from work to find my house was flooded from a broken pipe under the sink. My house had just recently had new wood floors, carpet and electrics installed because 6 months earlier my house had been flooded by the same pipe breaking. FML
Today, I found out that apparently the pipes for my toilet were never connected, so anything you flush just falls out onto the basement floor downstairs. I've lived here 4 years. FML
Home Improvement
Today, I heard what sounded like an explosion from the basement of my house. Turns out my foundation cracked. FML
Today, the maintenance man 'fixed' a leak in my apartment by flooding the place. FML
Good times, bad times
Today, I'm stuck at home waiting on a plumber to come fix the flooding in my basement. The flooding happens when any sink, shower, or toilet in the house is used. Today is also the day that I started my period. Without water. FML
Chili beans
Today, I woke up to find that there has been a water main break in my neighborhood and there is no running water until the break is located and fixed. I had chili with beans late last night and it is wreaking havoc with my lower gastrointestinal tract, and the toilet won't flush. FML
Titanic
Today, I woke up to a flooded apartment. Apparently, the upstairs neighbor's bathtub had overflowed and water was pouring through my ceiling. My landlord said he couldn't do anything until the water stopped, so I spent the morning frantically trying to mop up the water while feeling completely helpless. FML
Our House
Today, I found out I have another leak in my house. I've had three inspections and they were all shit. At this point, that pipe is the only remaining original pipe in the entire house. Over 25k have officially gone into this BS. Note to all: go "new." FML

Welp... time for a new house, paid for by the city.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Wait for your house to sink and use it as a foundation for a new house. Bam! Prebuilt basement!

That would be fair, yes. But experience tells me that they'll fight tooth and nail not to pay so much as a dime.

Cool, an underground house, cool! Oh, wait, they’re more problems than they’re worth...

Homeowners always have that sinking feeling. Now you know why.

Wow that really sucks file a report with local officials and you'll probably going to need a lawyer, but don't let them tell you the land is fixable either it's not you'll need to move, it'll take decades for the land to dry and than settle again, there's a 50/50 chance you're sitting on top of a sinkhole and not a bog, I live in a area where there's alot of underground springs or old mines this happens alot so move where there's bedrock under house 🤔☺️

I would have gone with "LastDescendantOfUsher" but I favor the classics.

Quick, attach a few hundred balloons to the roof, a la Up, and your house will immediately reverse direction!
