Today, the power was out. I tried to explain to my boyfriend that he wouldn't be able to watch any TV until the power came back on. His response was, "But we have Netflix." FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Wifey
Today, the power went out in my area. My wife and I were bored so I lit some candles, poured some wine, and left little to her imagination about what my intent was. We cuddled a while and as I leaned in for a kiss the power came back on. She was more excited that the WiFi was back than anything. FML
Today, I was watching ESPN. My boyfriend came in, bitched about "boring tv," so I handed him the remote. He put on a Lifetime movie. I must be the only woman in America with this problem. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me but wanted to make sure that we were still friends, so he could still use my Netflix. FML
Oddly specific insomnia
Today, the power went out. Thankfully, it was early in the morning so I should've been able to sleep through it. Then I realized I have an impossible time sleeping during power outages. FML
Worth it
Today, my now ex-boyfriend told me the only reason he has stayed with me for the last 6 months is because of the Netflix account. FML
Outage
Today, there was a power outage at my apartment. I ended up deciding that the power wasn't going to come on any time soon, and that I should go to a hotel for the night. Just after I unpacked at the hotel, my neighbor called to say the power had come back. FML
Today, my husband surprised me by cooking a romantic dinner. I asked him why the sudden gesture. His response? "The cable was out." FML
Today, after a power outage at my house, my 14-year-old brother was genuinely confused as to why our flashlights still worked if we had no electricity. FML
Idyllic
Today, after watching TV, my boyfriend and I had to go walk our dog. I was too lazy to get up from the couch immediately so I teased him by turning off all the (smart) lights using my phone. He got mad and went upstairs to continue watching TV, so now I have to walk the dog alone. FML
Are you kidding me?
Today, my boyfriend was complaining about how we never see the movies he wants to see. So I took him to the movies, and he picked which one. Then he fell asleep. FML

I think the powers out in his brain too...

If he was talking about watching Netflix on a smart phone or a tablet than he might have a point.

He doesn't have to worry about power because he paid the electric bill. OP is obviously not understanding how the whole power grid thing works..... (Must.... Resist..... Eye roll....)
Sandman366 6
Sounds like it might never have been on.
XxDevilxXGt 26
Unless they have a device with 3G?
Wizardo 34
And if the power was on, it seems like he's a really low power bulb...
ironichalibut 24
36- He's a few watts short of 40 you could say.
geekpower_fml 28
Not really, maybe he had a fully charged laptop?
ironichalibut 24
And an Internet connection that doesn't require a modem that needs electricity? There are options like satellite Internet or 4G and such, but the fact that it's an FML invites the assumption they do not

Actually you can watch Netflix during a power outage! Or if it's nice enough, go outside. Both kill time pretty fast.
SamanthaCassieL 10
But that's the thing, if they have a mobile device (phone/tablet, etc) he could still watch Netflix. Just sayin... :)

Or a laptop or an iPad.

I agree with every prime-numbered reply to this comment.

smart man ya got there. not lol
SpicyDuck 22
His point is valid if you have an iPhone or laptop with enough battery to watch something...it just won't last very long.
MidnaLink 35
No power... no internet. Data only.
lilhellian 27
Maybe the power is out at the cell towers to?
GrammarNazis 6
Too*
VioletSkies 21
The laptop could have an air card that subscribes to data. So 27 can still be right

#33 i have movies that i bought on itunes and i watch them when the power goes out

#46 Give him a break, your weigh to up tight abot gramar!

OP said no TV. Him referring to Netflix seems to suggest that it's streamed to or through the television. He was probably thinking that the cable (provider) was down and not the power.
MidnaLink 35
66 But the dumbass (OP's bf) is talking about netflix. I don't care about your itunes movies.

Perhaps, but maybe not. If that were possible the Original Poster would not post this FML and they'd get on just fine..
fdupagain 11
Sometimes the lack of a full sorry can create an FML. Like my man left me for my best friend. Back story: she cheated on her man with said best friends man. In their grief over the cheating (now) Exs breakups, found romance. You never know. That's the fun of YDI or your life sucks.
NurseJonathan 9
Same. My FML would've probably gone through had I had more room. Let alone this one FML where the girl bumped into her ex's parents while holding sex objects. I felt sympathy until in the comments she admitted she left him for his best friend. Which made me lose all sympathy and know that is a big no-no. You should never dump someone for their best friend and the best friend shouldn't try to get their greedy mitts on you.
not_a_robot 15
Unless the tablet or smartphone has 4G, then no he could not. Without power, the Wi-Fi router would be out. Without Wi-Fi, he could not go on the internet, which is required for Netflix. Unless he has 4G.
Supcio 12
I can watch Netflix with 3G just fine.
not_a_robot 15
Well then 3G works as well. I probably should have just referred to "G".
SS99_fml 20
Ask him to put the Netflix on and slowly watch him malfunction
Nevermind212 11
I'm hoping he's not millennial
yadirawrx 4
Lol I'd imagine him asking her to turn on the internet..
kyu_Q 19
No...Netflix .....head....can't stand it...POP

You my good sir, are a genius.
seansbro56 10
Tablets... Phones... Unless u have apple tv or something then i think he might have gone full retard NEVER go full retard.
McNikk 15
You still need electricity for Apple tv. Without power you won't be able to run the tv that Apple tv requires to display an image.
ilovedinosawers 17
I think you may have gone full retard on that comment. NEVER go full retard indeed.
seansbro56 10
What i meant was it would wrk if u hav tablets and phones... But not if they had an apple tv... Srry for the confusion

Why do people type without vowels?
Chumsword 8
Because you can still make out the word phonetically without vowels.. It's actually a common practice in call centers to save space and time for notes after customer interactions.
seansbro56 10
Yeah.. I am sorry i was in a rush. I dont normally do that.
thosedogtags 8
Well.. I hope he's good in bed because he surely doesn't have the brains. Best of luck to ya!
MitChell127 5
Shallow much? Damn!
NurseJonathan 9
"Much" is an understatement.
thosedogtags 8
It's a shallow world.
BronayPonay 6
Maybe he meant watching it online like on a computer?
homeboyangst 17
Computers also require the power to be working.
nissanman_fml 16
Uh, ever heard of laptops? They run on things called batteries.
NurseJonathan 9
Everyone calm down. We are malfunctioning in this thread as much as Original Poster's boyfriend would if he tried turning on the Netflix.
TourettesGuyFTW 26
25- but we have Netflix!!
Crazynopantsman 11
22- Batteries won't really matter when you still need a connection to the internet which requires electricity..
izzie321 27
You need power for Internet connection..
fmelots 9
Tether. Need I say more?
mangoboy1 19
Well I guess he could watch Netflix on his phone or something else on 3G/4G.
MidnaLink 35
Thank you! Finally someone gets it! Not being sarcastic, people.
KeannaLove 32
Maybe he just doesn't understand the concept of how electricity works? I don't know, that's the best I got. Maybe he was in shock that the tv doesn't run 24/7.
