Today, the heater went out at work. I was shivering so hard that someone thought I was having a seizure. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Assumptions
Today, at work, I had some palpitations, which ultimately caused me to become hot, dizzy, and pass out. I couldn't go home because we were so short staffed, and three different colleagues asked me if I was pregnant. FML
Today, I burned my butt on the heater when I tried to warm up after my shower. FML
Today, I was at work as a lifeguard. The temperature was absolutely stifling, but I tried to tough it out. A couple of hours into my shift, I passed out, fell off my stand, and crashed into the water. Or so the medics tell me. FML
Today, while at work, I started to feel sick to my stomach, hot, and dizzy. My co-worker told me to go home. On the way through the locker room to get my stuff, I experienced a dizzy spell so severe, I blacked out and pooped myself. No one in the building is going to let me forget this. FML
Today, the fire alarm went off in my dorm. Not only was it 30 degrees outside, but I was in the shower. FML
Today, I woke up with a skull-splitting headache. I braved the wind and freezing temperatures to get to work. Today is also the day my boss thought it would be cute to let the elementary school band play at our office. FML
Today, I had a seizure at work. My boss walked by and saw me, but didn't help or do anything because he thought I was "picking something up off the floor." FML
Chilling
Today, it was freezing in the office, so I brought in a small space heater and plugged it in under my desk. Moments later, the power went out on the entire floor of the office. I quickly unplugged the heater and stuck it in a drawer. Now I just have to somehow sneak it out of the office. FML
Today, I've been freezing in my office for days at work. When I finally complained about it to a coworker, she led me into my office, said, "Let me show you something," then pointed out the thermostat I'd never noticed was even there and turned it up with a pitying look. FML
Zapped
Today, I got electrocuted at work. The boss thinks I'm faking, even though a chunk of my left hand is gone. FML

I've never known hospitals to be warm.
pwnman 33
Exactly they aren't warm. My dad is in the hospital dying from hepatitis B and it's so cold there! The vent gives cool air...
Knightchaser27 25
But at least at the hospital OP will have blankets
maggiefox 25
Going to the hospital isn't too helpful for seizures. I have epilepsy and after my first seizure all they did was send me home and say to check into getting a neurologist.

I know this was a joke, but this is illegal.

Way to spoil things.

90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border. The rest live in Edmonton. Very few people live in "northern" Canada. Granted, it still gets much colder than most places in the US even a few miles north of the border.

Lool it's a little bit colder here in mtl Quebec .we got a lively -5 degrees -_-

There are about 20 000 people in yellowknife and about 30 000 in whitehorse. True, that's not much, but they're much more North than Edmonton. Plus all the towns and small cities that are far from the border. The major cities are usually close to the border (though even Calgary is over 100 miles away), but Canadians don't all live in major cities.

I'm sure someone will be able to help.

Always bring a jacket with you in the winter. You can always take it off if you're hot.
Nilorak 24
Where does it say it was winter?
Welshite 40
#23: Technically, Winter officially ends March 20 in the US. Therefore, I think it's safe to say "winter".

To add, I highly doubt you shiver in summer, at least in the United States.
ThatSlappinBass 32
Sometimes you do up in the northeast. As a Rhode Islander, I can say there have been a few instances where I've needed a sweatshirt. It's not often though :o I forgot where I was going with this but yea. Poor OP, must have been damn cold inside for him to be shivering that hard.
rocker_chick105 31
38- I agree, I live in New York and I know how it can be! But enough to shiver that much in summer would be scary
Brandi_Faith 34
Maybe op had a jacket on and was still freezing.
skyttlz 32
I'm in Washington and I have needed sweatshirts in the summer. I've even had to turn my heater on low.

place blame on the "made in china" non polar capacitor that usually goes bad in HVAC units. hopefully it gets fixed soon!
