Today, on my second day as a lifeguard, I locked myself out of the pool. My angry guests and I had to wait for 45 minutes for my manager to arrive and unlock the gate. FML

Today, I went to the gym and got locked in the locker room. I had to call the gym's phone number to get them to come let me out, after being in there for half an hour. FML
Today, after closing down the gas station I work at, I went to unlock the door to the building. Turned out the lock broke and I was locked inside until my boss could get there to let me out. FML
Baby please come home
Today, I accidentally locked myself out of my apartment while taking the trash out, without my phone. I had to wait outside for three hours until my flatmate came home from work to let me back in. FML
Confused
Today, I locked myself out of the house I was house-sitting. An hour later, and my fifth attempt at climbing the fence, I figured I'd try the door one more time. Turns out I was turning the handle the wrong way and the door wasn't locked in the first place. FML
Today, I got locked inside my apartment due to the locking mechanism being stuck, so I had to call off work. They refused to believe me, and insisted that I be in on time or else there would be disciplinary actions taken. Maintenance wasn't available till 3 hours into my shift. FML
Today, I locked myself out of my own shop. And I'm a locksmith. FML
I'm not a celebrity, get me out of here
Today, I got locked inside the entrance area of a Walmart. I had to get an employee to get me out. FML

Today, I nearly drowned. I was at a wave pool for the first time and stupidly swam out to the deep end. When the waves turned on, I discovered I can't swim in rough water. Despite my yelling, "Help!" and flailing around, the lifeguard paid me no attention. My friend had to save me. FML
Long walk home
Today, I got locked out of a building that I work in (I work night shifts). I locked my phone, wallet, and car keys in the building. I had no way of contacting my boss or getting a ride. I had to walk home at night, almost got hit by a car full of dudes yelling slurs, and had a woman scream at me from the passenger seat of a car. FML
Today, I went tanning for 15 min at my gym. When I got out no one was there, all of the lights were off, and the alarm started going off. Turns out the people working forgot about me, locked up, and left me there. FML

Why exactly do you need a lifeguard at a pool ?

Are you joking or really that stupid? Can no one get some form of trouble and drown in pools?

Hopefully things went okay afterwards. Don't feel too bad, everyone makes mistakes.

The person clearly stated he/she locked his/herself out of the pool. So why do ppl think that the person life sucks? Not being rude or anything

Don't worry, you're new. I learned so much during my time as a lifeguard. Talk to your manager, you'll learn how to pick locks and make fake turds out of tootsie rolls in no time.

Honestly they should give all lifeguards keys so stuff like that doesn't happen. Well I mean.. You shouldn't lock yourself out in the first place though.
