Today, my wife has the flu, while I have strep throat. We have a two-year-old toddler and have no clue as to who's more contagious and who should take care of her as to not get her sick. Yay for the entire day of surgical masks and Sesame Street. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I woke up with the flu. My wife thinks I'm faking it so we don't have to go on date night, even though I've been on the toilet all day. FML
**** our lives
Today, I’m on day three of pneumonia and a sinus infection. My six year-old is on day three of a sinus infection and day one of the stomach flu. FML
Today, I'm stuck in bed with a fever, aches, and nasty cough. My kids and husband had it too, and kept coughing without covering their mouths, despite my asking several times so I wouldn't get sick. FML
Today, my kids caught a virus from school. My husband stayed home with them since I make more money and he didn't want to risk me getting sick. Guess which adult has the runs and is puking every five seconds. Nope, not him. FML
Knackered
Today, my husband has pneumonia and is in bed. Our baby is ill and can't go to daycare. I take care of them both, frantically trying to meet my freelance deadlines while they sleep. I am so tired I want to cry. FML
Tradwife blues
Today, my husband and I are sick. He keeps whining about how bad he feels. I'm just as sick, as well as 7 months pregnant. I've not only been taking care of his whiny ass: I've cooked, cleaned, and gone to the store several times because the tissues we had were too rough on his nose. FML
Germs galore
Today, after spending weeks dealing with my 4 year-old's chronic and acute otitis, it's my 20 month-old daughter who has now got it. Its like that every damn year. Oh, and I just got bilateral otitis myself now and need antibiotics. I almost regret having children. FML
Miserable lie
Today, I have the flu. I had to wash the dishes, cook dinner, take out the trash, and take care of the laundry, all while my wife sat around watching TV, because she was "too tired". I work 8 hours a day. She's a college student. She doesn't see what's so unfair about this. FML
Cursed
Today, I got hit with the “Beginning of the Year Curse” and by that I mean my kids went back to school and brought the flu home. FML
Today, I learned that I have a sinus infection, ear infection and bronchitis so bad it was on the verge of pneumonia. My work won't let me call in sick. I work with kids. Lovely. FML

This sounds like a job for Team Grandparents!

Well my recommendation would be just try get one of your parents to take care of your child or something because you don't really want your kid to get either of those!

Pediatrician told me that he hasn't seen strep in a child under 4. I had a newborn while my husband had strep, so my vote is you!

The one with strep is more contagious, and since strep and KILL a child, needs to break all contact until antibiotics are given for 24 hours.

Strep can kill only if left untreated for a really long time. The flu has a much higher mortality rate among infants. Think of the flu epidemic of 1919. Never heard of a strep epidemic doing anything like that!

Personally, I would opt for the flu over strep. Strep is a bacterial infection and would require antibiotics for her, whereas the flu is a simple virus that will run it's course. In my opinion a virus would be more preferred to an infection. Good luck OP, and I hope your wife and you get well soon.

Part of being a parent. I had the flu and took care of my daughter alone because my husband was on a business trip.

Strep is only contagious for 24 hours. Find a sitter & suck it up after the first day.

Today's episode is brought to you by the letter Q. Can you say quarantine?

I wish I could get a day off to watch Sesame Street with a mask on!

I don't think most people would consider being sick while trying to care for a toddler "a day off."

I guess locking her in the closet us out huh? Bad idea? If so, I bet on relatives to the rescue. Call grandma. Or an aunt.

Strep isn't contagious if you're on an antibiotic whereas the flu is always contagious. There's your answer!

Strep is gone with meds in 24 hours, flu is a whole lot worse. Your turn!
