Today, my university is capable of sending me two diplomas in short succession due to a clerical error, but can't recognize that I've graduated and won't be taking classes with them in the fall. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Goddam red tape
Today, I found out that the degree I'd assumed I had for the last 10 years was invalid due to a clerical error. Surely it'd be an easy fix? Nope. Both the degree structure and the admin system have been entirely changed between now and then. I'd have to study for two more years to validate it. FML
Today, my college charged me for tuition for next semester. I graduated two years ago. I have a degree from a place too stupid to only charge current students. FML
Higher education
Today, after attending lectures for months, studying for weeks, and spending hours writing a 15-page research paper, I was informed that due to technological issues during registration, I was not enrolled in the class. FML
Today, after wondering why I didn't receive a grade for a summer course I took in 2007, I realized that I gave the professor the wrong student ID number. Someone else received credit. I've been waiting on this grade for 8 months in order to graduate. FML
Multitasking
Today, I fucked up my schedule on my final semester so bad I need to take a course from a community college at the same time I'm doing a full-time schedule at my university. This doesn't sound bad, but then the only course I could get into is at the same time as one of my university courses. I can't graduate otherwise. FML
Today, I applied for college graduation. Turns out my advisor screwed me over and now I'm 1 credit hour short of getting my degree. Now I have to wait another semester and pay $3,500 just to take a one hour class on Bowling so that I can graduate. FML
Today, I learned that the college I'm going to in the fall has been tampering with their ratings on the internet and actually only has a 5% graduation rate. Everything's already been paid for and I can't transfer elsewhere. FML
Today, I was notified that I've been going to the wrong courses for 4 weeks. A friend of mine was the only person to tell me that the administration had taken the privilege to change my courses. I have now failed 5 courses due to absences and have been suspended from college for 6 months. FML
Red tape
Today, I got kicked out of university after missing/failing two exams on the same day, because I was told I could submit my family member's family emergency documents. Turns out, they didn't recognise it because of different last names. My parents never officially married, so couldn't prove it. FML
Slow down
Today, my high school diploma came in the mail. I accidentally ripped the diploma while opening it. FML

Does it matter? You've got your degree, who cares? Unless they want to charge you for it..

With two diplomas no one is going hire you because you'll be "overqualified", like everyone else on FML

Actually, if your university has it on their records that you haven't graduated that can be a HUGE problem. Employers don't look at diplomas, they ask for transcipts (sent by the school) which usually will just be a printout generated by the schools database. So it would reflect whatever problems the school records have. Also, if someone calls to confirm "did x student graduate from y program on z date?" they might be told "no."

Just "no" in lowercase? That's harsh.

Sounds like the American education system. My school's just as bad lol

Don't bother correcting them. At this rate you'll have a master's next year, a PhD the year after and a tenured professorship before you're 30.

EXACTLY. With the amount of people being "overqualified" here of FML, I'm beginning to doubt the whole system existing.

Actual Diplomas are just ceremonial pieces of paper, and can sometimes be generated by a different department based on different lists than what is in the actual school database. OP, make sure to look into this. You'd be surprised how many times I've seen people go back to their school years later and realize that they never actually graduated. Sometimes do to a clerical mistake, sometimes due to a single missed credit. Either way, it's important!

Did you go to CSU, CU, or somewhere else?

Unless you just got your Master's degree, the logic of you continuing your education is something plausible.

You make it sound like the first error should keep the second error from happening. Your school just sounds like a mess. And what do you care if they schedule you for classes if you've already graduated?

At my university, the University of Utah. Those things are handled by different departments so it makes sense that they act differently. It took the department of admissions about a month to process my application. It took the graduation office about 3 days to process my graduation paperwork. Both basically just look at a list of my accomplishments and say "yep, you are qualified for x" I went to salt lake community college before the UofU and they still consider you a student for 3 years after you last class, even if you graduate. Maybe OP's school has something similar?
