Today, my skinny co-worker complained that sitting just underneath the AC vent was making her too cold. My boss had us switch places, because "your mass keeps you warm anyway". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I've been freezing in my office for days at work. When I finally complained about it to a coworker, she led me into my office, said, "Let me show you something," then pointed out the thermostat I'd never noticed was even there and turned it up with a pitying look. FML
Today, I moved to Florida because I have poor circulation and need to be in a warm environment. The first day at my new job, I discovered my co-worker is an overweight man who wears a wool suit every day, and insists on keeping the office chilled to 65 degrees. I can't feel my fingers or toes. FML
Controlling
Today, I accidentally hit "Reply All" on an email complaining about the office thermostat being too cold. My boss replied, "It’s cold because I control it." FML
Today, the company I work for decided to "go green" and stopped using the air conditioner to cool down the office. It is currently 81 degrees at my desk. FML
Sure, it's always the woman's fault
Today, I got to listen to my boss lecture me about professional dress and subtly insinuate that my being on the heavier side top-wise with all the men in the office could be a problem. I've worn turtle necks for the whole two months I've been working there. FML
Today, it's -20°C outside. Half way through my thirty minutes walk to work, my boss pulled up beside me in her car, said "You look cold. I'll see you at work." And then drove away. FML
Today, my roommate turned the thermostat down to 50 degrees. Why? Because she read that shivering burns calories. FML
So hot
Today, the AC broke in the kitchen of the restaurant I work at. Temperatures reached over 100 degrees and one of my coworkers nearly passed out. Our boss accused us of being "dramatic" and only let us step out after I collapsed. I need this job too badly to quit. FML
Good Riddance
Today, while working at Starbucks, an elderly woman came up to me asking to turn up the heat. It was at 73. After explaining to her that corporate all the way across the country controls our heat, she's reporting me to corporate and is insisting I should be fired or she won't ever return. FML
Today, my mom made me go shopping with her. It was freezing out, but she didn't wear a coat, boasting that she doesn't feel the chill like I do. By the time we drove home she was whining about freezing to death, and now I'm stuck in a house whose heating is set to "inferno". FML

That's not right, your skin gets cold, resulting in your nerves being cold, resulting in that being sent to the brain, so no matter what you're going to feel cold. Your boss hates you and likes your co-worker. Sorry OP.

I know for me, I'm cold ALL THE TIME. Never knew what it was like until I lost 180lbs. More insulation does make a difference. That was still pretty inappropriate of your boss, though.

Everyone keeps saying that body size doesn't make a difference but its really does, im not trying to offend anyone, just a bio major that's seeing a lot of false statements. Heat loss is a function of heat capacity, surface area, and temperature. Smaller people have more surface area in comparison to their volume, they lose heat more quickly. It is also a well known fact that fat is an insulator that keeps organisms warm. That's why animals in colder climates have more fat/blubber ie seals, whales, polar bears, etc.

Idk, I'm a big girl and I'm always freezing. Maybe I'm an outlier though.

Yes but even if you are big, your fat won't keep you warm if you're forced to sit under a bloody AC vent. It also doesn't make as much of a difference as you're implying, the world isn't split into 'small' people and 'fat' people, those who get cold and those who don't. I have about 20 pounds on my sister but looking at us you could barely tell, our 'surface area' isn't all that different, and I feel the cold just like anybody else. Fat keeps your core temperate from dropping when the surrounding area is cold, and when your body is used to it! If a Floridian woman who weighs 250 pounds moves to say, Washington, she'll still be cold. As a bio major you should also know that fat does not protect you from having cold air blasted at you. It's not a shield. So in this case, no, body size doesn't make a difference. OPs boss is an ass.

unless your co worker is new she should know that the office gets cold and she should be properly prepared for it.
