Today, my phone charger caught fire. I was thankful to be there to witness it. I was not thankful for having been holding it while this happened, as my shirt caught on fire. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was at a fire roasting marshmallows. When mine caught on fire, I pulled it back so I could blow out the flames. It flew off the stick, and, still flaming, landed on my face. FML
Today, I was refilling my lighter. Afterwards, I gave it a test light. I must've spilled some fluid because my thumb caught on fire. FML
Today, my shirt caught on fire when I was burning paper for my ancestors at the cemetery. FML
Today, I was on my phone while it was charging. My hands fumbled a bit, and my phone slipped out of my fingers. Thinking quickly, I grabbed it by the charging cable to save it. The cable unplugged, and my phone now has a pretty crack on the screen from hitting the tile floor. FML
Today, I chuckled at a "No Smoking" sign as I lit my cigarette. I bent my head down to light it and somehow managed to light my hair on fire. FML
Today, I had to call 911. Why? My fireplace caught on fire. FML
Today, I got burned, all because the toaster scared me while I was holding a pot of boiling water. FML
Today, my mom was in the kitchen when her shirt caught on fire. Acting quickly, I poured my glass of water on her. Instead of thanking me, she yelled at me for making a mess. FML
Today, my house caught on fire. After it was put out, I realized the damage wasn't bad, mainly smoke damage. I went to my parents' for the night because my house smelled. While there, I received a phone call from my neighbor. Apparently, my house caught fire again. It's now a pile of ashes. FML
Today, I was taking my phone out of my pocket when it caught on the fabric and began to fall. I managed to catch it, but also smacked myself in the balls in the process. FML

I charge my phone next to my bed at night, but it's okay; I don't need to sleep anymore anyway.

I heard that this is common for people who buy generic chargers at Walgreens or CVS or something it's best to buy a charger at BestBuy or the actual service provider store.

This happened to me while charging my phone it burnt my foot & my phone didn't work after that.

Weird, last night my charger decided that instead of charging my phone it would melt instead. Luckily it was right next to the bed, so when I noticed what was going on I was able to unplug it before it caught fire. Reading all these similar stories I'm starting to think that the machines are beginning to rise up...
