Today, my mother told me she's planning on taking the next two weeks "off". She is unemployed and on disability, and spends her days on the couch watching Netflix. Off from what? FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Let it be
Today, it seems that I can't enjoy one fucking weekend without my mom finding work for me to do to take up my time, and I'm sick of it! FML
Work work work work
Today, I had my first day off in six months. My mother immediately came down to my room and demanded that I clean the entire house. As I was cleaning, she said, "You don’t get to relax. Ever. Lazy ass." FML
Today, is my one day off for the week. My mother in law is visiting, and has decided we need to rearrange my living room. FML
Today, I asked my mother to pay back the $50 she owes me. Rather than paying me back, she raced off to "work". She's been unemployed for 3 years. FML
That's not how any of this works
Today, my fiancée's life ambition is to become a "couch slug" so she presented me with a brilliant plan: She wants to go on medical leave from work and apply for disability payments. She's perfectly capable, just extremely lazy. FML
Today, my bedridden mother called me selfish. After an operation two weeks ago, all I've done is feed her, clean her and the house every day. She called me selfish because I couldn't lift a TV into her room. FML
This is why we can't have nice things
Today, I’m an adult and my mother lives with me, not me with her. She found out I was going to be gone for 9 days on vacation and that she couldn’t come, so she had a “mental break down” and checked herself into a psych ward. Last year, she did the same thing when I graduated college and celebrated it. FML
Make it stop
Today, like every day for the past two years, my aged mother has sat complaining all day loudly about relatives who call too little or too much, about another package being a few days late, or her laptop and TV not working properly. All while I'm trying to quietly work from home. I'm about ready to jump off a bridge. FML
Today, my father has been unemployed for 8 of my parents' 25 years of marriage, and my mom still supports him. I've been unemployed for three months and my mom is kicking me out. The difference is, I'm actually applying places. He just plays video games. FML
Today, months into supporting my mum with her part time cleaning job by cooking dinner for my large family after university, I found out that she doesn't actually have a job, she just leaves the house for a few hours because she doesn't want to cook dinner. FML

I’m on disability. I take off days. Lupus kicks my ass. Dealing with doctors every day of the week is more exhausting than any job I had. Put yourself in her shoes with whatever has her disabled. Or if she’s faking the system, report her.

I have Multiple Sclerosis. It's an invisible disability and it is very difficult to function. I am literally sitting here at 8 in pain trying not to cry on Father's Day and be with the family. Waking up...I can be exhausted. Taking a shower...I need a nap. I would love a vacation! Perhaps you don't understand... just because you can't physically see a disability does not mean a person is not suffering. Being disabled is very hard. I wish I could work right now.

I am on disability myself, because of a car accident some years ago, and as a result of quite a few medical tests and examinations afterwards, and would love to be able to work - what gets me off is people who are on disability and just sit around, wasting their time, wich puts the rest of us in a bad light - and I think that some of them needs a kick in the ass. I guess, since she is your mother you are probably aware of her need for/lack of need for disability and I wish you (and her) the best of luck for the time coming, and for your relationship!
