Today, my mother knocked on the door of my room at 7am. I am currently over 300 miles from home, on a vacation to get away from my overbearing family. I told none of them where I was going. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found my mother wandering the halls of my fraternity unescorted and asked why she was here, she told me she was concerned when I didn't pick up my phone for two days. She then informed me that she had also moved to the same city I live in. My mother moved over 600 miles to stalk me. FML
Today, I bumped into my parents at the mall. They didn't tell me they were around. I live 5,000 miles away, in a different country from them. FML
Today, I returned home from a three-week vacation. None of my friends realized I'd been gone. FML
Controlling
Today, even though I was very clear before I went on holiday that I was going completely zero contact to de-stress, my mother rang at least twice a day. When I stopped answering the phone, she found the direct number of the local police station in a foreign country and sent them to find me. FML
Wish you were here
Today, I listened to a voicemail from my mom about how she misses me and can't wait to see me when I get back from vacation. Thinking she hung up, my mother then had a conversation with my aunt about how quiet the house is without me and how she'd be blessed if I didn't come home. FML
You really shouldn't have
Today, I was awakened by knocking on my door, only to find my parents standing there. Turns out, they booked two one-way tickets to visit me from another country. Their plan? I should scrap my upcoming 2-week vacation to hang out because they invested in this trip. Oh, and they didn't book a hotel. I'm 31. FML
Today, marks the third time this month my parents came to visit. I moved 5 hours away to get away from them. FML
This is why we can't have nice things
Today, I’m an adult and my mother lives with me, not me with her. She found out I was going to be gone for 9 days on vacation and that she couldn’t come, so she had a “mental break down” and checked herself into a psych ward. Last year, she did the same thing when I graduated college and celebrated it. FML
Well planned out
Today, after 6 months abroad, I finally got home to the airport at 5 a.m. where my parents were supposed to be picking me up. I called my mother to let her know I'd landed. She picked up with a sleepy voice and asked, "Who is this?" I'm an only child and we live 2 hours away from the airport. FML
Today, I tried to surprise my parents by coming home from college for Spring Break. I arrived to find a dark house, with all the doors bolted shut. After calling them, I found out that they have gone on a vacation to Hawaii for a week. I am now locked out of my own house, with no where to stay. FML

Your mom probably had a GPS device implanted in you as a baby. She obviously cares!

So, I feel like this really needs a follow-up. How the heck did she find you? 300 miles is a good 5-6 hour drive at least.

One word; therapy

I don't think the odds are very good for fixing something this bad with therapy. People have to want to change; have to accept responsibility for their flaws, for therapy to work at all. I'd skip straight to fleeing.

If I where you I would change the password of everything thing you use and reset your phone. This kinda sounds like she's spying on you

Change phone numbers and if possible phone carriers if she has the same one. Also make a new email address with a new password just in case.

She got a strong nose. She can sniff out her son from miles away. A supermom.
