Today, my mother knocked on the door of my room at 7am. I am currently over 300 miles from home, on a vacation to get away from my overbearing family. I told none of them where I was going. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I found my mother wandering the halls of my fraternity unescorted and asked why she was here, she told me she was concerned when I didn't pick up my phone for two days. She then informed me that she had also moved to the same city I live in. My mother moved over 600 miles to stalk me. FML
Today, I bumped into my parents at the mall. They didn't tell me they were around. I live 5,000 miles away, in a different country from them. FML
Today, I returned home from a three-week vacation. None of my friends realized I'd been gone. FML
Controlling
Today, even though I was very clear before I went on holiday that I was going completely zero contact to de-stress, my mother rang at least twice a day. When I stopped answering the phone, she found the direct number of the local police station in a foreign country and sent them to find me. FML
Wish you were here
Today, I listened to a voicemail from my mom about how she misses me and can't wait to see me when I get back from vacation. Thinking she hung up, my mother then had a conversation with my aunt about how quiet the house is without me and how she'd be blessed if I didn't come home. FML
You really shouldn't have
Today, I was awakened by knocking on my door, only to find my parents standing there. Turns out, they booked two one-way tickets to visit me from another country. Their plan? I should scrap my upcoming 2-week vacation to hang out because they invested in this trip. Oh, and they didn't book a hotel. I'm 31. FML
Today, marks the third time this month my parents came to visit. I moved 5 hours away to get away from them. FML
This is why we can't have nice things
Today, I’m an adult and my mother lives with me, not me with her. She found out I was going to be gone for 9 days on vacation and that she couldn’t come, so she had a “mental break down” and checked herself into a psych ward. Last year, she did the same thing when I graduated college and celebrated it. FML
Well planned out
Today, after 6 months abroad, I finally got home to the airport at 5 a.m. where my parents were supposed to be picking me up. I called my mother to let her know I'd landed. She picked up with a sleepy voice and asked, "Who is this?" I'm an only child and we live 2 hours away from the airport. FML
Today, I tried to surprise my parents by coming home from college for Spring Break. I arrived to find a dark house, with all the doors bolted shut. After calling them, I found out that they have gone on a vacation to Hawaii for a week. I am now locked out of my own house, with no where to stay. FML

Your helicopter mom may have powers granted by the devil himself... to test our theory you need to quickly buy a plane ticket to Asia (I recommend Mongolia). While you are hanging with the Mongols, you can warn them about the monster known as "mom" and see how long it takes her to track you down with her devil granted powers. Once you check in with the time it took her, we will plot our next move. Agent jpn signing out

Wow. Your mom can track a person better than the US military.

I assume you're an adult and if your family is that over bearing change everything. Make a new email address, change phone numbers, block their numbers on your new phone at least at first, if you have any sort of social media change those passwords and make everything private as well as delete and block them if they're on your page. Wherever you work of your management is cool let them know you don't need them around at work and if worse comes to worse a restraining order. You deserve to live your life with our them hovering over you.

Interior. Middle of the Night. It's raining outside. "S U R P R I S E !" *Horror film-esque entrance with lightning, dramatic music and a bloody smile illuminated on the mother's face*

That's stalking. I don't care who's doing it, it's still stalking, and nobody should have to put up with being stalked. She's an obsessive, creepy POS and OP should move far away, then move a couple more times to throw the psycho off the trail, change names, move a couple more times... Then finally, aahhhh, peace and privacy! (Source: had to do this to ditch father)

How'd she find you? Did you Facebook details of your vacation? And how did she get your room number? No hotel I know of will give out room numbers without the guest's permission.
