Today, my mom learned how to use the text messaging on her smartphone. I've received 37 already, and she calls after every single one to make sure I understood her. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I finally taught my mom how to text message people. Now I get a message from her every 30 seconds saying "Hi". FML
Today, my mom finally learned how to text. Now it's her way of communicating, even when we're in the same room. FML
New tech
Today, I finally convinced my grandpa to try a smartphone. After an hour of teaching him how to text, he announced he'd figured it out on his own. The first message he ever sent was meant for me. It went to his pharmacist instead and simply read, "Love you. Thanks for everything." FML
Stolen valor
Today, I got a text from my mom that said, “I’m so proud of you!” I immediately replied, “Thanks, Mom!” Then I realized it was meant for my sister, and my mom had accidentally texted me instead of her. FML
Today, I found out my best friend made a program to reply to my text messages with random sentences from a list. It took 15 minutes of texting before I finally noticed. FML
Spiteful
Today, I sent my mom a text to tell her about my promotion at work. She responded with, "Who is this?" It turns out that she deleted my number, because I "never call." FML
Today, I text messaged my mom from Afghanistan to let her know everything was okay. She responded, telling me not to message her so much because "the price of text messages really adds up." FML
Today, my phone rang for the first time in four days. It was my mom. She dialed the wrong number. FML
Today, I found out my dad bought an iPhone. I've spent the better part of the last six months teaching him how to check his email and online newspapers. FML

I get it now. This is the dude that was going to get his mom an engagement ring. But to make his fiancee happy, he opted for a smart phone. Obviouslt still regretting the decision. That's why he doesn't have the heart to say "stop texting me mommy"

Speaking as a member of the "txt tlk" generation*, what the blazes did your mother say?! *I'm a member of that generation, doesn't mean I participated in any of that bollocks.

I actually could kind of understand the mom saying "i'm at *somewhere*. be back soon. gotta get milk, what do you want?" This is something like a guessing game! But seriously, it sucks that your parents text like that o.O My mom learned on her own, my dad on the other hand..... he just sends mysterious messages. At least none of them are like OP's.
