Today, my mom informed me that she wouldn't be joining the rest of the girls in the limo ride to the church for my wedding ceremony because she wants to have her car with her. Why? Because she is planning to leave my wedding reception half way through to go home and take her dog out to pee. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got a phone call saying I was no longer a bridesmaid for a wedding in June. It's my mom's 4th wedding. I'm getting replaced by our dog. FML
Mommy's boy
Today, I asked my fiancee to drive me to the airport for a business trip in a few days. She ranted angrily that she already had plans, so I asked my mom to take me instead. Now she's pissed and saying, "Why don't you just go marry your mommy, since she does everything for you?" FML
Priorities
Today, my father-in-law left my wedding reception because he had to feed the dog. This would have been alright, if he hadn't been absent for nearly two hours. Apparently, just feeding the dog and leaving would have hurt the animal's feelings so he stayed to play with him for a while. FML
Call the cops
Today, my mother-in-law "borrowed" my dog without asking, to show him off to her friends. My dog is my service animal, and I'm not comfortable leaving the house without him. I have to be at work in an hour, and she's not picking up her phone. FML
Good boy
Today, my mother locked me out of the house. Why? The dog and her needed some time to talk. FML
The doggo of our discontent
Today, my wife is refusing to go on our honeymoon because the resort we chose won’t allow pets. She’s now angry with me for not checking before we booked the place, and is threatening divorce if I go without her. I told her we could just get a dog sitter, but she refuses. Oh well. FML
Unwelcome guest
Today, my mom's dog bit my dad's girlfriend in the face. At my wedding. We did not know she was bringing her dog. FML
Insane
Today, my insane mother struck again. She refused to drive me to my doctor’s appointment for my asthma because the office won’t let her bring her precious doggo inside and it’s too cold to sit in the car with it. No, she won’t leave it at home like a normal person, and no it’s not a service dog. FML
Manage this
Today, the same manager who wrote me up for missing work when my mom had had a stroke, thought it was perfectly acceptable to announce she was leaving work 6 hours early to take her dogs to the groomers. Apparently, that appointment was more urgent than me riding in an ambulance with my mother. FML
Today, my parents asked me if I would dog-sit for them while they go to my ex's wedding. FML

#2 I'd think that her daughter's wedding is more important than this. If the dog is so important, she should have made plans for someone else to watch the dog that day so she could be there the whole time to support her daughter.

I agree with #13. What's the big deal? Jesus she's not SKIPPING the whole freaking wedding here, there is nothing wrong with going home real quick to let the dog out so he/she doesn't pee all over the house. OP you might need to be less of a Bridezilla.

Continued... "Then, i finally forced my mom to stay at my wedding. She went home to my dog, pissing on the couch, my childhood memories, and my pre-wedding photos, along with whatever clothes were left. FML."

really you guys? it's her wedding day, and it's special to her, so she has a right to be upset. it doesn't necessarily make her a bridezilla and gives you no right to call her a 'self-centered bitch'. you don't even know her. wedding triumphs the dog, and the mother should have gotten someone to watch the dog. end of story.

Definitely sucks...I don't know about an FML though, it definitely would've been if she decided not to go at all, that would be awful. I think the most important part is that she's going to see you taking vows and getting married, which overshadows the receptions that take place afterwards. The beginning of the reception is where close members of the family deliver their speeches and congratulations (which she'll probably see), but after that people just eat, dance and converse for hours on end. She should've gotten someone to take care of the dog, but in her defense having a dog is like a second full-time job, that's why I don't have one ;P Missing a couple conversations with family she might often see anyway, is probably worth not having the dog pee all over the house now that she put herself in that situation. Hopefully you'll forgive her

Agree w/ #45 & 59 She has a right to be a little selfish, it's her WEDDING after all. OP's mom is a douche. If my mom did that to my bride, I wouldn't want her to come back.

68 Just because it's her wedding doesn't make it automatically right for her to be selfish. Her Mum needs to miss part of the reception, the PARTY after the wedding, not the ACTUAL WEDDING. The reception is unimportant, it's just a chance for people to meet each other and see people they haven't seen for a while, eat too much, drink too much etc. It;s not like she's missing the vows, that's the important bit not whatever happens after.

I don't think that's such a big deal. My dog needs to pee every two hours.... Your mom will come back too sooooooooo.... calm down lady

All the woman on here saying "she has the right to say fml because her mom might miss **gasp** a little bit of the wedding" come on people she's not missing the ceremony she's missing the party after... Coming from a girl who had a wedding the bride won't even have time and probably won't notice she's not there for the brief time she's gone.
