Today, my mom and dad went to court to negotiate child support for me and my brothers. During the meeting, my dad was asked, "Sir, are you saying that the only reason you want your sons to live with you full time is so you don't have to pay child support?" To which he responded, "Yes." FML

Today, my husband told me "The only reason I stay with you is because it's cheaper than paying child support." FML
Today, my dad asked to borrow some money off me, so I said okay. Later on, he told me he'll be using it to help divorce my mom. I pretty much just helped pay for my parents' divorce. FML
Today, while driving my kids to school, my son said, "Why don't you find another place to live, so we can just live with daddy?" Then my daughter added, "Yeah, 'cause we LOVE Daddy." FML
Today, after a fight with my parents, I told them I was running away. They said, "Good. Now we have less to pay in child support." FML
Today, my dad finally told me why he never paid child support to my mom when he was supposed to for the last ten years. His reason? Because I'm a girl and I wasn't that important. FML
Today, I told my father I registered for the Marines, and that I'm leaving for bootcamp next week. He asked if this means that he doesn't have to pay child support anymore. FML
Today, I had a client argue that he shouldn’t have to pay the full amount of court ordered child support because the kids aren’t “fully his”. He swears that when a woman has multiple partners, trace amounts of DNA are left in the womb, creating kids with several fathers. Yes he was serious. FML
Today, I told my son and daughter that their father and I were getting a divorce. They each responded with something like, "Yay! I want to live with Daddy! He buys better presents!" Their father has literally never bought anything for them, one of the many reasons I'm divorcing him. FML
Today, my eldest son told me he wishes he lived with his dad. This after I, two years ago, managed to get myself and my children out of the abusive situation we were in. Why? He didn't want to tidy his toys. FML
Today, I found out the only reason my parents want me to live with them is because of the tax refund. FML

That's awful and so stupid! He obviously doesn't realise that it's way more expensive to be the resident parent anyway, so the jokes on him!

ugh, unfortunately all it takes to be a father is fertilizing an egg...it's a shame some people can't be banned from procreating :(

My real dad tried to get out of paying child support by signing an affidavit saying my brother and I weren't his kids. I don't understand how people can show such little regard for their children. Not to sound cliche, but OP's better off without him. I know I was.

Ok, I take that back. Your dad is really heartless for saying something like that. I mean, you're his child for God's sake! I really do hope that you end up with your mother, mom's are usually the more caring parent anyway. Good luck, and I hope everything turns out well!

I've seen many fathers who are so much better than the mother. It's thinking like that which causes kids to end up with the mother despite that, and there are some really cruel people out there that uses the child against the other. Gender doesn't dictate how someone is as a parent, the person does.

Yeah that sucks. Pretty dick things to say. But I might not read in so much to it. It could just mean that he's going to be the same dad to you even if you don't live there but would rather spend it on you than hand it to your mom and trust her to spend it on you. Best to think of adults in these cases as 2nd graders with really nice toys.
