Today, my manager told my shift that if we didn't have the quota filled for cinnamon rolls by tonight, we were all out of a job. One of the machines we use to wrap cinnamon rolls just started acting up. We also aren't allowed to take over time. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Be reasonable, people
Today, at work, I was told at the beginning of my shift that we would be enforcing a 4-item limit on hand sanitizer, toilet paper, etc. Not even 20 minutes later, I had 2 customers bitch me out. This is going to be a long shift, if not year. FML
The customer is always an ass
Today, while working my shift at the grocery store, we ran out of muffins. I'm a little overweight, and I guess that's the reason an irate customer accused me of eating all of them. FML
Work is hell
Today, I had to do the job of 3 to 4 people. Spending the first half in the bakery by myself, I then had to run over to the deli and cook everything for the day while helping lines of customers. Why? Because 8 people are on Covid leave. Instead of shutting down the department, welcome to hell. FML
Today, I got a write-up because I told my boss that it was impossible to have pies, which have a bake time of 1 hour, ready for a customer who wanted them in the next 15 to 20 minutes. Then, when the customer got there and the pies were still in the oven, I got a second write-up for wasting time. FML
Snarky
Today, we are severely understaffed, and I'm very often the only person working my shift. There's a yuppie who comes in and complains when we have to pause service due to shift change. He does this every day, and I'd had enough, so I slid him an application ,and told him to fill it out, wait, or leave. I got written up. FML
Stressed out
Today, at my job in a pet store, my boss had me pull all the bags of food out and restock them so that they sat pretty. Five minutes later, the store is full of people. My manager screamed, "They're touching things!" and locked himself in the office with a cup of tea. He has the only open register. FML
Crackers
Today, my company is doing so bad that I had to take down my symbolic first dollar so that I could buy a roll of crackers for dinner. FML
Today my boss informed us that there were no more single shifts we were all working doubles until further notice. Also there’s a way for us to “earn” a half day but we have to out sell everyone else in the office to get it. So being new I haven’t had time off in two weeks... FML
**** management
Today, I tried to clock in at 2 pm, but the machine was malfunctioning and kept refusing my card until 2:01. Just yesterday, our manager gave a long angry speech about firing the next person who doesn’t clock in when they’re supposed to, “on the dot.” FML
The ruling class wins again
Today, someone had been stealing my brownie at work every day, so I sprinkled cocolax on one and waited to find out who the culprit was. Turns out it was my manager. Needless to say, I'm fired. FML

I'd like to see him do the job all by himself after firing all his employees.

He won't fire you all instantly (because he'd have no workers, he'd realize this in the morning). Start looking for a new job, because having a boss that throws out that phrase is not one you should be working for. I do understand some areas it's hard to find a job, but you should never have to work your best and always be under threat of termination. If you can't work overtime, don't. It's against the law for him to make you work unpaid. Sometimes you may have to take a hit. I'm sorry OP.

If it was the icing machine there is another method if you catch my drift

Praying that you find something better where management cares more about the employees.

If all of you start eating cinnamon rolls like your jobs depended on it, you should be able to meet the quota.

make sure NONE of your show up the next day and then go to your local labour board and file a lawsuit for wrongful dismissal.

So you might actually have to do a job by hand for once? Damn first world and its problems xD

It’s not really a case of laziness if the machine helps them mass produce cinnamon rolls quickly. Which seems to be what the boss wants. Making cinnamon rolls by hand would put the employees in over time, which they aren’t allowed to have. The request is impossible to fill now because they can’t make how many they need in a short period of time by hand.

Idk why everyone is voting this down. Across the world, there are people who do backbreaking manual labour and work under hellish conditions for a tiny wage. Refusing to make cinnamon buns without a machine to do everything for you would be, in the grand scheme of things, relatively petty in comparison.
