Today, my husband who asked for a divorce four days ago announced his engagement on Facebook. His new woman's profile picture is my engagement ring. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
She's lost control
Today, I found out that my husband proposed to his girlfriend, and that her mom had posted it on Facebook. FML
Today, I found out that my engagement ring was actually my husband's ex-fiancée's. FML
Today, my fiancée broke up with me over text message while I was away for work. She later posted photos of her and her new boyfriend on Facebook, while still wearing my engagement ring. FML
Today, I married the man of my dreams. While I was being driven to our wedding reception, I checked my Facebook. My husband had just updated his status to "Me and the bitch just got hitched." FML
Today, I woke up with an engagement ring on my left hand. The same one I refused last month. My boyfriend apparently waited for me to be drunk to propose again last night, and has already posted the pics on Facebook. FML
Today, my ex-boyfriend announced he was engaged. We broke up last night. FML
Today, I logged on Facebook and saw my friend who'd been engaged, then broke the engagement, then got back together announce their new wedding date: three days before my wedding. She also sent me a message asking if I'd move my date. We've been planning our wedding for two years. She got engaged six months ago. FML
I don't know how to say this to you, but…
Today, I came across a friend on Instagram. She's engaged… to my abusive ex… who has been stalking and harassing me lately. She was wearing the ring he gave me. FML

Today, I found out that my girlfriend of almost four years was breaking up with me when she captioned an Instagram post saying, "Who else besides me is going into 2018 single?" I had already bought an engagement ring. FML
Today, I checked my facebook, and my wife of 5 years was listed as single. I then write on her wall that it is ok to announce to be married. She writes back saying that we have to talk and to come to the kitchen. My wife divorced me over facebook. FML

the ring is actually your personal property, as is your wedding band. the only time it's required that you give it back, is if YOU break off the engagement prior to the marriage. It's considered a form of contract until the wedding day, and upon the marriage becoming official, the ring is considered a gift to the bride/wife. The only time that a judge might make an exception with rings is if the rings are a family heirloom from his side of the family. So... I'd be calling the police and filing a theft charge against him asap.

I just want to know if the OP actually gave the ring back or if the soon to be ex-husband just took it. Either thing is possible especially considering since he just asked for the divorce and one of them would be working on the dividing and packing up of belongings. If the OP isn't the kind to keep wearing the engagement ring after the wedding it would have been easy for him to pocket it.

Well, get over him and find someone nice for yourself. Good luck in life.

op make sure to take screen shots of both of their facebooks and send to your attorney (alt-print screen) works wonders.. that will show infidelity and you will get everything in the divorce.. take that sob for all hes worth.. good luck.. you prob dont need it with that evidence you got him by the balls

Once the divorce has been announced the OP and him are both free to do what they want and for all we know he met the new women the day he asked for a divorce and they both fell head over heels for each other and are now rushing into things. Hell she could be some kind of mail order bride for all we know. All those screen shots would prove is that sometime after the divorce was requested the man got engaged to a new woman.

Actually, no, that is not the case at all. You can't just say "I want a divorce," and then immediately do whatever you want. A separation agreement is needed, and 4 days is rarely enough time to get one, so starting new relationships isn't ok. Even once you get this agreement, that only makes having relationships less risky, it doesn't give full permission with no repercussions. Under the law, until the OP and him formally sign the actual divorce papers and they're approved, the husband is committing adultery. Even under formal separation, it is still adultery against the marriage and OP, so she can go after him in court and the judge will rule in her favour because the husband started a new relationship before the old one was officially over.

I wouldn't get too bent out of shape over it. I'm sure you wouldn't want to keep a ring that is a constant reminder of a failed marriage. Instead his new wife can wear a ring that came from failure and think about that every time she looks at it. If she doesnt know it was your ring, send her a message on facebook so she knows what an increadible cheap ass your ex is.
