Today, my friends were acting strange around me. This afternoon, I got a text asking me to meet them out for a couple of drinks. Because of all the strange acting, I decided to tell them I'd go and then not go. I just found out they had been planning me a surprise party. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Surprise
Today, and recently, many of my friends have been acting strangely. My birthday is coming up soon, so I thought maybe they were planning a surprise party. Nope. Turns out they've just been secretly hanging out without me. FML
The hair of the dog
Today, my friends threw me a surprise birthday party. I was genuinely surprised—and also genuinely hungover from celebrating my birthday alone the night before because they'd all told me they were busy. FML
Good friends
Today, I invited my friends to meet up at the park. After asking twice, I finally got the text saying to meet them there. But when I got there, I realized they had already been there for a while. As I was walking up to them, I heard, "Why did you invite him?" FML
Today, all of my friends stopped messaging me. I checked their Snapchat and Instagram accounts and saw that they were all at a party. When I confronted them, they assured me I was invited and should join them. When I arrived at the address, the house was empty. They gave me the wrong address. FML
Messed up
Today, as I returned home, I noticed some movement inside my house. Thinking it was a break-in, I called 911. It was my friends and some coworkers trying to throw me a surprise birthday party. Nobody's said a word to me since. FML
She noped out of that one
Today, I'd planned a surprise party for my best friend's birthday. However, she apparently found out about it and told me at the last minute she couldn't make it, probably to avoid being the center of attention. I'd already invited all of our mutual friends, so I had to awkwardly cancel the party. FML
Fake news!
Today, after I tried to plan a surprise party for my friend, and a series of miscommunications and accidental reveals, it turned it into a surprise party for myself. I walked into a room filled with people shouting, "Surprise!" FML
Surprised?
Today, I found out my friend has been texting my long distance boyfriend more than I do. When I confronted her about it, she confessed that it was because they had been planning a surprise appearance for me. I've never been surprised before, and I ruined my own surprise. FML
Today, my "friends" and I were supposed to go out to eat to celebrate finishing the last day of school, but with a full day of work first, I decided to go buy them donuts. They decided to ditch me while I was gone, and go early. FML
It's the thought that counts
Today, my friends threw me a surprise birthday party. The problem? My birthday is tomorrow. I spent the entire evening pretending I was surprised and happy, all while knowing they got the date wrong. FML

Why wouldn't you just confront them instead of childishly lying to them like that?

thank u grammar nazi

Should of is the correct term. Should've isn't in the dictionary, but both are accepted. Go die grammar Nazi.

No, it's Should HAVE, should've sounds like should of and thats why most people type it that way. Google Chrome's spell check is telling me should've is wrong though . . .

the 've means have just like the (n)'t in don't means not
pwincessa23 1
mint, my dear, you can shove the "ve" that stands for have up wherever it fits. I'm sure you can fit it in many spaces.

Are you guys even familiar with what a contraction is? Contractions such as "could’ve,” “should’ve,” “would’ve,” “might’ve,” and “must’ve,” are usually avoided because they encourage people to believe the proper pronunciations are “should of," which is completely wrong. I typed should'VE because that's what she was trying to aim for when she spelled out " should of. " You are all complete idiots with the exception of maybe one or two. I also don't consider myself a Grammar Nazi, as one would have corrected her whole sentence all together. HERP DERP! 55-you really want me to take advice from someone whose username seems to have been made by a three year old? Shut the fwuck up.

#63, you're a douche. End your life... now.

63 failed to see the reason why it's intentionally incorrectly spelled.

actually, it was the way someone very loved by me used to pronounce it. it wasn't a three year old, it was a two year old. they may no longer be here but they are still very much loved. at least Im not the one getting anal because someone misspelled something or used something incorrectly. it's a website not a grammar competition. I'm sure people have better things to do than worry about whether they used a contraction right or not. fugly nigga. idc what u say or think. I'm not racist, just dislike you very much.

Couldn't agree with number six more. Next time, OP, act like an adult.

This is an 'YDI' of epic proportions. Never make plans and back out last minute. I hate that.

you know what would've been better? telling them you wouldn't go, and then show up. that way you'd be by yourself in a bar, and you could hook up with some random guy/girl to make yourself feel better. happy birthday!
Superflyshyguy 0
Way to go dummy. Although this is probably something that would happen to me.
mintcar 10
YDI!! Happy birthday though. Next time just be upfront and ask what's really going on.
