Today, my fiancée of 2 years and mother of my son, who is also pregnant with our second son, commented on how lucky two friends getting married were to have found each other. I said that we're just as lucky. She responded, "No. They actually love each other." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
No future
Today, the love of my life said, "You’d make a great husband! Whoever marries you in the future is gonna be so happy!" We’ve been together for 4 years and was planning to propose on her birthday in two weeks. FML
Today, my 15-year-old son told me that he and his new girlfriend are deeply in love and are meant for each other. The "girlfriend" in question? My fiancé's 12-year old daughter. FML
WTF?
Today, I went to my fiancé's mother's funeral. His step-sister proudly announced that she's pregnant with his baby and they are engaged. FML
Today, while visiting my widowed great aunt, she took out her wedding rings and talked about the love she and my uncle had. Smiling, I told her that one day I hope to have as happy a marriage as theirs. Her response? "Knowing you, I wouldn't count on it." My mother sat there agreeing. FML
Fiancé of the year
Today, I found out that my fiancé of three years, with whom I share a child, fell in love with my best friend and they’ve been going on dates for the last four months after work. FML
Two-stroke
Today, my boyfriend posted a status on Facebook saying what a great girlfriend he had. Flattered, I commented on it, saying that I felt the same about him. Turns out he was talking about his other girlfriend. FML
Romance
Today, my boyfriend of several years, and father of our one-year-old child, finally proposed. He was making idle conversation from twenty feet away and casually said, "By the way, you wanna get hitched?" This is as romantic as my life will ever get. Yay. FML
Today, trying to be sweet, I told my girlfriend that I'm so happy we met one another. She muttered, "Well, that makes one of us." FML
Today, my fiancé's mother came up to me and told me she loves that I stuck with my soon-to-be husband despite his history and condition. I have no idea what she's talking about, and she refuses to tell me. FML
Today, my brother had his fiancée over to meet the whole family. We were having a great time with her, and my mother gushed to her that she was like the daughter she never had. I'm her daughter. FML

What a horrible thing to say.

The first line of your FML kind of explained why dude.... engaged two years with a second kid on the way? Kind of a bad sign.

Why does she feel like y'all have to have a second child if she doesn't even love you? Moreover, why even get married (beyond the kids)? This kind of stuff is some of the reason for why the divorce rate is so high.

I always wonder what motivates some people to click on "you deserved it" under a post like this ...

Maybe she doesn't feel loved by you, not the other way round? Maybe try to think of how you may have upset or neglected her. Also keep in mind that emotions are a lot stronger during pregnancy, so it might have been a very minor thing like not asking her how she feels. Good luck to you and your family!

Am I missing something?! Doesn't fiancé/ fiancée mean they are getting married? Why do people keep saying, "maybe she wants to get married"?

Maybe it's her that's dragging their feet? If she doesn't love him and he loves her, that would explain the comment and long engagement.

Well what the **** ? I'm hoping it's just the hormones, but that was pretty hurtful.

Quit knocking her up and walk her down the bloody isle.

did you even read the FML?

So I get thumbed down...really?? Ok, "Today, my fiancée of 2 years and mother of my son, who is also pregnant with our second son, commented on how lucky two friends getting married were to have found each other. I said that we're just as lucky. She responded, "No. They actually love each other." FML" Why would you walk her down the aisle if she doesn't love you...? That's not a marriage, it just becomes an obligation at that point. Hell even a liability, because you're no longer married to your wife, you're just married to the mother of your children. So #40 makes no sense.

I agree with you,but the problem with mist people is that they see it as being OP's fault for being engaged for 2 years or the give the woman sympathy because she's pregnant and has hormones racing. If a guy said this you can bet people would be saying don't marry him.

Still, love is love. You should never get in an actual commitment if it's not shared...

ouch...

I think it's a totally valid assumtion to say that part of the reasoning behind her remark has to do with the fact they've been engaged for two years. She could have been (poorly) trying to imply that OP doesn't love her because he hasn't married her yet, not necessarily that she doesn't love him.

I agree. If my boyfriend proposed to me and two years later we still weren't married, I'd be having serious doubts about his affections as well.

Had no one else thought that it might be her dragging her feet?
Iguanadon 14
or maybe they can't afford a wedding?
picklemonger 13
Well, she's pregnant and hormonal and probably not happy about the TWO YEAR ENGAGEMENT while others are actually getting married.
