Today, my father asked me to never contact him again. The reason? His "new" family doesn't know I exist and explaining that he has a 28 year-old daughter to his wife and his other children would be "awkward". I have siblings that I will never meet. FML

Today, my family keeps pestering me about whether I've contacted my father yet. My father, the one who treated me and my family like crap throughout my upbringing and cheated on my mom a few years ago. I don't know why they think I'd ever want to see him again. FML
Today, my dad asked me to stop calling him "dad" because it’s too weird for his girlfriend’s kids to hear, because they call him dad. FML
Today, my dad's new wife, who is two years younger than me (I'm 24) and hates that I'm a lesbian, threw a fit when I told her that I would never call her Mom. My dad took her side. I don't live with them but still… FML
Today, I happily introduced my stepfather to my friends as my dad. He told me, "Don't ever fucking call me that." FML
Today, my deadbeat dad threatened to press charges against me for harassment if I ever contact him again. I've contacted him twice in the last two years, once to tell him he was going to be a grandfather, and once to send him a birthday card from my son. FML
Today, my father called me to ask what my middle name is. He apparently needed to know it to remove me out from his will. FML
Today, I tried to reconcile with my estranged father after learning that all the things my mom said were lies to turn me against him. He refused and told me that he has a new daughter and that I'm not part of the picture. I know I deserve it but… FML
Today, I met my paternal grandparents for the first time, since my dad was never in my life and my mom wouldn’t talk about him. According to them, I have at least 28 other siblings from him, and who knows how many that haven’t come forward. No wonder my mom always hated him. FML
Today, my estranged father died. No one bothered to tell me, and the only reason I found out was because his wife texted my sister. When I asked about the service, I was told I was not welcome in the state he had lived in, because I was no longer family. FML
Today, I got the guts to call my dad for the first time in nine years. He said he "almost didn't remember" he "had another daughter." Another? FML

I had the same problem...except... no one in his family knows i exist, including his parents. And he strung me along for 2 years, although i kinda figured he was. Then when i pushed to meet his parents. He said he didn't have time for me

yeah my grandfather had a family before he married my grandmother. I have to live with it, knowing everyone knows but my grandmother... it sucks a lot....

Without question, you should do everything to make sure his 'new' family is fully aware you exist. Even if for nothing other than to make his life difficult before leaving his life forever. I can't imagine how someone like your 'father' could live with themselves.

Seriously now... I would totally crash that party. Baby pictures and all. I would show up and say "Hey my dad told me all about my new half siblings and I thought I would stop by and introduce myself!" From there I would spend the time with them getting along all smiles, and then as I left I would say "now dad why wouldnt you want me to know them?"

I have 3 half-brothers i've never met. they don't know I exist because my dads too coward to tell his family about me. I never got to meet my grandmother either and she died last year.

I agree with everyone else, make contact. Find out his new wife's name and where they live and mail her a photo copy of your birth certificates and photo's of you and him with a note that says something along the lines of "I'm what he's been keeping from you" or "Think you really know him now!?" etc... But to be honest sound's like you're better off without him. (: hope it all goes well for you in the end.
