Today, my boyfriend forgot to pick our son up from daycare. His excuse? Fighting in a battle in World of Warcraft was far more important and he had to stay absolutely focused. Our son had to wait for two hours. FML

Today, I had to explain to my son that his dad was too busy in a raid on World of Warcraft to be at his award ceremony. FML
Today, I went into labor and got my husband drive me to the hospital. Instead of staying by my side, he rushed back home for a World of Warcraft raid. His excuse? His friends were counting on him and they'd be pissed if he let them down. FML
Today, I asked my dad to pick me up from school, he said he couldn't. Why? he was busy playing world of warcraft for the night. I got to walk the 3 hours home while my 49 year old dad played computer games. FML
Today, my boyfriend dumped me because he said the relationship was too tough for him. When I asked for an example, he responded, "Like, I don't have enough time to play World of Warcraft." FML
Today, my boyfriend refused to take me out on our three year anniversary because he was busy, "training to become a professional gamer." FML
Today, my boyfriend taught my son to do his chores. Not real chores, but "Runescape chores" on my boyfriend's account. My son won't pick up his toys or put his shoes away, but he'll jump on the computer to grow plants or cut trees or some other stupid shit. FML
Today, it became apparent that my boyfriend only showers when he levels up on World of Warcraft. FML
Today, my boyfriend forgot to pick me up from work. We work at the same place. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were arguing about how he was too busy for me. During that conversation, he was texting his best friend and then called by his brother to drive him home. Instead of returning to finish our conversation, he left to prepare for his fishing trip with his mates tomorrow. FML
Today, I realized that I'll have to explain to my child that mommy and daddy met on World of Warcraft. FML

My mom (who I no longer see thank god) forgot my sister and me at elementary school for 3 hours one day and it was one of scariest times of my life. Luckily my dad saw us waiting outside while driving by (my parents are divorced) and picked us up and took us to his house.. Thankfully he was at daycare and not just waiting outside. Sorry to hear about this! So sad. Kids are always #1 priority!

As a WoW player, I'd like to say two things: First off, deleted characters can be recovered. Second, canceling sub lets you still play until the day that game time you bought runs out. Only way to put an instant stop or reduce/control this would be 1. Parental control on his account lets you decide when he can play. 2. Restricted access to the game via the router - find out which ports the game uses to connect and block access after certain hour, or completely.

Not to be rude nor am I trying to tell you how to live your life. Now I don't know how old you both are but from what I can gather you're no older than 20 years and at that age or younger, in my opinion, you're too young to have kids and you should have waited and been more responsible. Mature parents chose kids over a silly game.

Plus, like the others have pointed out, it is possible for adults to enjoy video games and still be responsible and mature when needed to be. Obviously that isn't the case with this guy, but not everyone is like him. Thankfully.
