Today, my boyfriend bought me a beautiful pair of very expensive diamond earrings, along with a card that read, "To my beautiful brown eyed Princess." My ears aren't pierced, and my eyes are green. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
The Hulk
Today, my very cheap boyfriend of four years proposed. I was overwhelmed with emotion, since he bought such a huge, seemingly-diamond ring. I was later overwhelmed with emotion when my finger turned green. FML
Today, I went into hysterics and started crying when my boyfriend pulled out a Tiffany's box at dinner. Then I found out he'd used the old box to make the $15 earrings he bought seem more "special." FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me the most beautiful diamond ring I have ever seen. As I excitedly put it on my finger, he told me it wasn't an engagement ring, but I should wear it like one to keep other men away and seem "unapproachable". FML
Who? Where?
Today, my husband bought me a beautiful pair of earrings for my birthday, to match the necklace he'd spent months searching for online the previous year. What necklace? He gave me a watch he found at Walmart last year. I wonder who the lucky girl with the necklace is. FML
Today, I bought my girlfriend a very expensive necklace. I gave it to her thinking she'd be extremely happy. Instead she was mad at me because my gift for our anniversary was better than hers. FML
Today, my boyfriend went into great detail over the Tiffany's jewelry he painstakingly selected for his previous girlfriends on their birthday. I got hand towels. In powder blue. From Target. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he'd drive me to the jeweler's to pick out a ring. We drove there, I picked the ring, and the sales person rang it up. I glanced at my boyfriend, only for him to reply, "Well don't look at me!" FML
Today, for our 2-year anniversary, I bought my girlfriend a beautiful $400 necklace. She bought me a pink $5 shirt of Elton John riding a piano through space. FML
So romantic
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me with the prettiest, most simple ring I have ever seen. I called my sister to tell her the good news, and her response was, "I know. He had me steal the ring from Claire's." FML
It's the thought that counts, or something
Today, I gave a girl I like a $200 diamond necklace to express how much she means to me. She gave me a hug and told me she didn't want to lose me as a friend. Nor did she want to lose her new necklace. Today, I got a $200 hug. FML

Maybe he's hoping you'll get brown contacts and pierce your ears to suit his royal standards. lol

"Us guys"? Speak for yourself. I'm a guy, and I would make sure NOT to write down the wrong color on this note. If I didn't know, I wouldn't say anything about it. Some guys are not assholes, newsflash.

If you find yourself allergic to earrings it's most likely because they are poor quality gun studs, most of them contain nickel, which is a very common allergy trigger. If you wear low quality jewellery and it turns your skin green/brown then you have an allergy to it. Even titanium gun studs are just coated and that coating wears off after a while. If you want to have your ears pierced properly get them done with a sterile needle in a sterile environment. The shop front of Claire's and other places are not sterile, neither are the gun or gun studs, by a mile. The only way to properly sterilise jewellery and equipment is to use an autoclave, in which guns and studs would just melt because they are poor quality. When cannula needles are used they come pre-packaged and so are sterile, and other equipment used by a professional piercer will have been treated in an autoclave: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoclave Proper body jewellery also comes packaged and is sterile which gives your body a much better chance of healing. technically speaking, green eyes are a result of the "brown" gene...i side with the boyfriend.

It's clear that you're confused. He wants you to get your ears pierced and by using the term "brown eye", he isn't referring to your eyes.

I think OP might be implying that she suspects him of cheating on her with someone who has brown eyes and has pierced ears, and that he got the two of them mixed up. At least, that's what I get out of the way it was written

Granted, this FML isn't exactly Armageddon. But WHY do people (both men and women) say things like "Oh he's a guy, he can't be expected to know details like your eye color" Just because he's a guy doesn't mean he can't remember the little things!

Maybe he has a daughter you just don't know about. Nobody calls their significant other princess? That's a term for a daughter.
Roobsa 0
It's a term of endearment, there's no set rules saying princess is a term for daughter. Different names can mean different things for different people.

I agree with #59, my husband calls me his princess sometimes...

he was complimenting your eyes not asking u to use the ear rings on them.

Well, it was a sweet thought, but he losing points for not being observant. I could see how he could confuse the eye color. I consider my eyes green, but they're more of a hazel and in certain lighting they can look brown or even gold. Sometimes my mom will comment, "You're eyes look darker today." So don't hold that one against him. It is kind of foolish for a guy to buy expensive earrings for his girlfriend without being 100% certain she has pierced ears first though. Maybe you could exchange the earrings for a nice necklace or something.
