Today, my boss yelled at me for visiting Facebook on my work computer. He says that since I can't be trusted, I'll be supervised from now on. I was uploading pictures to the company's Facebook page, which I have to do once a week as part of my job. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boss bitched me out for doing some random web browsing while waiting for some documents I needed to arrive, then went back to his desk and went on Facebook, thinking I couldn't see. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me for having Facebook open at work. That's fine, I closed it and continued on with my work. In a meeting later on I could see the reflection of my boss's laptop screen in a mirror behind her desk. For two hours, I watched her scroll through her Facebook feed. FML
I know that sound
Today, I was caught going on Facebook at work. I was called into my boss's office to be reprimanded, and while he was lecturing me on the importance of staying focussed and the misuse of company property, his computer beeped. It was his Facebook chat notifying him of a new message. FML
Unreasonable
Today, my boss told me I can't use the computer for entertainment. This coming from the same person who spends hours at a time every day on Facebook and other similar websites. I'm also not allowed to sit down while using the computer, which I use about half of the day. FML
Today, my boss decided to post a photo of a piece of crap on Facebook. He tagged me in it. FML
Today, I got fired from the job I'd had for eleven years for going onto Facebook while on the clock. When I got home, I saw that my boss had updated his status, from work, to "Finally fired that bitch." FML
Life imitates life
Today, my boss bitched me out for violating workplace privacy, after he found an FML post from last year that eerily resembled a situation that happened the same year. He thought I posted it and twisted things to make him look like an idiot. I've never posted here in my life. FML
Kinda harsh, don't ya think?
Today, my boss fired me for "fooling around" on my phone. I was looking for supplies for a surprise party we are throwing him for his birthday, and I didn't want to do it on my work computer because he has access to our history. Also, this happened during my lunch break. FML
Unfair
Today, my boss fired me for being on Facebook at work. He did it via a wall post on Facebook saying, "ur fired." Six of my friends liked this. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me for leaving on time. After months of management hounding us about our overtime, I get in trouble for doing what I was supposed to do. FML

Aren't everyone's terrible bosses related?
ironichalibut 24
No, but they all have to go to bad management conventions together, so they're well networked.
EsotericBrent 29
24 - must be seagull management conventions

41- My belief is that because people who are smart enough to question the intelligence of the higher authorities actions or opinions, or the moral implications that often come with such positions, are just too hard to be manipulated by their superiors.

It's almost as bad when your boss yells at you/writes you up while you're doing research for a job, via the internet. At the same time, your boss is Skyping, for hours on end, which is not work related at all. Most bosses have a power trip and take it out on their employees. Sorry you have to deal with that, OP.

My boss isn't so bad, but she has ninja like qualities... And when you least expect it, boom she's behind you. Stupid ninja bosses.

2- Why should they have to go home after work and do more work just because their boss is an idiot.
shinychic_96 7

He wasn't being an ass. He was saying that op shouldn't have to go home and do more work just because their boss is an idiot. You are kind of acting like an ass.
shinychic_96 7
Yeah and I was saying that he shouldn't be criticized for a suggestion Maybe use some f***ing common sense
shinychic_96 7
I agree that he shouldn't have to work at home but he shouldn't have people f**king criticize his suggestion, so the a$$hole gets praised for it, and one person gets to feel stupid just for offering something.

did you tweet about it?

Sounds like your boss and my boss should go bowling.
sammyf89 13
Surely your boss assigned you that job. If so just remind him. If not, you got trolled into updating an unofficial company page
Incredidanny 5
Well since your boss doesn't know what your job is, you could do what you want and still get paid. Or at least that part of the job.

Judging by previous FMLs I'm starting to think most bosses are just incompetent idiots trying to convince themselves they are better prepared than their employees.
SomeRandomGuy15 18
They're all trying to follow the example of a certain Pointy-Haired Boss...
kurodansei 16
ummm... who would that be 15? I have no idea of whom you are referring.
SomeRandomGuy15 18
Heh, sorry... I was referring to the Pointy-Haired Boss from the Dilbert comic-strip, known for basically being the worst, most idiotic boss ever.
dontpanic_fml 32
Since its not 1998 you can count on the younger generation not getting that ;)
upyourzlolz 11
Dunno abkut you, but my newspaper still runs Dilbert. And Pointy-Hair boss is still very him.
dontpanic_fml 32
It's not the cultural fad it once was; at any rate I prefer Mr. Burns as the benchmark of bad bosses
alwayswinning123 7
I would try explaining it to him, maybe he will understand
kevsandy303 12
Don't question your boss's choices. Hiring you was one of them.
VannahJane 17
Id question my boss's choices if i got in trouble for doing part of my job

I bet tyrannical governments love people like you.
