Today, my boss reprimanded me for a huge screw-up that he was responsible for. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boss fired me because I corrected him after he misspoke during a meeting. FML
Whipping boy
Today, like every day, my boss was complaining about something or other, but this time it was work that I knew he'd done himself, and he still blamed me. FML
Today, my boss reprimanded me for not finishing my work on time. Yesterday, she cut an hour from my schedule every day until further notice. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me for leaving on time. After months of management hounding us about our overtime, I get in trouble for doing what I was supposed to do. FML
Smart
Today, my boss chewed me out for correcting several spelling and grammar mistakes in one of his reports. The words "Think you're so damn smart, don't ya?" were uttered. I'm his secretary, and proofreading his shit is part of my job. FML
Overachiever
Today, due to being stressed and overwhelmed by my tasks, I made a mistake and completed a few of my colleagues' tasks as well. When I informed my boss about it, he said that I did an outstanding job, but I shouldn't have messed with other people's documents. As a result, my promised raise is cancelled. FML
Can't win
Today, my supervisor told me off for doing something. When I reminded her that she told me to do it, she yelled at me for correcting her. FML
Today, I got in trouble with my boss for doing what she wanted me to do. I guess she didn't think I would do it, so she did it herself. FML
Today, my boss reprimanded me for my lack of media communications skills. It would be more understandable if I weren't a janitor. FML
Monday, Monday, so good to me…
Today, I was scolded by my boss, all because I can finish most tasks in a quarter of the time it takes him, and he doesn't want to be shown up. FML

How dare you not watch over your bosses shoulder and do his job for him! Shame on you OP! On a serious note, either find another job, or if you work for a corporation try going to a higher up. Good luck!

Its called saving-face and is a signature go-to move for bosses who aren't decent human beings. Sad that they do not realise how much respect for them you lose; because they are incapable of admitting their mistakes. Don't let it psychologically get you down. Tell a few close colleagues the truth and you'll feel better knowing the facts are out there.

This is what shitty bosses do; they take credit for their subordinate's accomplishments & blame the subordinates for their own mistakes. Sadly, this boss behavior is more the norm than the exception. Get used to it. Going over his head will only get you fired, or treated so bad you'll gladly quit. My advice: search for "how to deal with a boss who's an asshole." Good luck.

Written in a vague enough way to sadly apply to so many people! Sad so many people can relate to this!

If you can, take this up with Human Resources (or call your company's Ethics Hotline), as this dick move is highly inappropriate. If none of this can be done, then it's time to burnish up that resume (but do not use your boss as a reference).

Did you not put a cover page on your TPS reports?
