Today, my boss bitched me out for a customer complaint. The complaint was me not laughing at the customer's joke of me asking for his ID and him saying no. I'm sorry, I've been getting this "joke" a least twice a day since I started working here two years ago. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my boss bitched me out on the sales floor for a good 10 minutes, because I wasn't "smiling the right way" for our customers. FML
Are you kidding me?
Today, my boss gave me a warning for "insulting our best customer" after she saw a comment on her customer card saying "stop giving this fat bitch free samples." My boss had written it in the first place, but refuses to either remember or admit it. FML
Today, my boss wrote me up for saying "pissed" in front of a client. This is the same boss who nearly pissed himself laughing when a client made an extremely off-color Holocaust joke a few weeks ago, in front of half the department. FML
Today, my boss suspended me for laughing too hard at my desk and causing a big scene in front of our customers. I was laughing because he'd forwarded me a hilarious email. He was practically smirking as he handed me my official warning. FML
Mr Boss Man
Today, my boss threatened to write me up, after I made a slightly rude joke about a coworker everyone hates. A while later, a colleague told me the same joke. Turns out my boss had gone around telling it to everyone else and taking all the credit. FML
Today, my boss called me into his office and bitched me out for a good half hour for my attitude to our customers. Apparently I always look pissed off and sound sarcastic. That's just my face at rest. FML
Today, my boss fired me because of the way I laugh. Apparently it reminds him too much of his ex-wife's laugh. I'm a guy. FML
Today, I got reprimanded by my boss for smiling and laughing too much. Last week, he reprimanded me for not smiling and laughing enough. FML
Whiner!
Today, my boss yelled at me, telling me that I can't answer the phone anymore. Not because I do a bad job, but because a co-worker whined about it being her job. People call her and complain about how rude she is and then ask to talk to me. FML
Make up your mind
Today, my boss came around to my way of thinking. He called our customers a "bunch of assholes" and to kick them out if they gave me trouble. When a lady began yelling at me for "setting the damn prices too high" I told her to leave. My boss soon bitched me out for being unprofessional. FML

Sounds like when I was a cashier and when I had hold up the money to make sure it wasn't counterfeit the customer would, without fail, say "HAHA I JUST MADE IT THIS MORNING." And laugh like it was the single funniest joke in the entire world.

I occasionally make lame jokes like that and am usually a little embarrassed of myself afterwards. Can't imagine wanting to repeat the whole thing to management.

I know the pain of being a cashier and hearing that joke way to often.

Or when an item doesn't scan and they say "it must be free!" Heard that one several times...

Or when you ask if they want a receipt and say 'can't claim it on tax'. (liquor store cashier).

At walmart my cashier couldn't scan some food so I said "I guess it's free!" she replied very unamused " I've only heard that 10 times today" ....i thought I was funny....

How is that funny? I couldn't be a cashier. I have no patience for this.

I work at a Starbucks with a drive through and I cannot tell you how many times people have ordered hamburgers thinking it was a hilarious and clever new joke. Same thing also constantly happened when I worked at Taco Bell.

That's why I had a pre-recorded laugh-track ready to go whenever a customer made a lame joke. I'd hit that play button and stare at them as laughter from long-dead people filled the store. It was glorious.

"I'd like to launch a complaint. I told one of your cashiers a joke. They asked for my ID, and I said they couldn't have it." "…" "Is there anyth—" "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I JUST GOT IT! Man, that is some witty humor. ****! It took me a second. Wow. Woooow! Did you write that yourself? AHAHA, I just remembered the part where you said they couldn't have your ID! Classic!"

I would just laugh uncontrollably for about 3 minutes as if it were the funniest thing in the world. Be sure to compliment the customer on their originality.
