Today, it's my 21st birthday. My parents' gift was a case of non-alcoholic beer, to "prepare" me for when I "turn 21." My parents can't even remember how old I am. FML

Go out and buy yourself some alcohol, get yourself completely wasted, and you won't even remember that they forgot.

They mean you have the maturity of the 14-year-old and cannot handle real alcohol.

Oh my God, kiddies, "non-alcoholic beer" does NOT mean root beer. It means non-alcoholic beer. WTF??

It doesn't count as getting free beer, in the traditional sense, if it's non-alcoholic. Kinda defeats the whole purpose.

go tell them they should've bought you condoms instead. see how they feel about that.

Birthdays are over rated anyways, just re-gift it. Then go out and party hard. Why, because your 21 and mature enough to know everyone makes mistakes. Your 21 and it's time to enjoy it!

Technically you weren't 21 until the hour of your birth, so they probably meant it like "get prepared for later or tomorrow ".

maybe they mean mentally turn 21.

Order a drink in front of them, if you get carded, great! If not and they complain, flash your ID
