Today, is the day of the biggest concert in the state of Florida, and it's also my birthday. I was so excited to hear my mom got tickets. It was for her boyfriend and her. I'm stuck at home babysitting. FML

Today, it was the concert of my life. I had bought tickets the minute they went on sale, and I'd anxiously waited until the concert date. Thirty minutes before the show, my friend got so drunk that we weren't allowed in, and I was stuck babysitting her all night in the hotel, completely missing the show. FML
Today, I asked my dad what his plans for Friday were. Apparently, he's going to a concert with my step-mom all evening. It's been their plan for months. Friday is my birthday. That's been set since the day I was born. FML
Today, I heard my dad complaining that he won't be able to go to a concert, because it's happening on my birthday. This is the first time he's even acknowledged my birthday in over ten years. FML
Today, my son surprised me on my birthday with tickets to a concert I really wanted to see. I was excited, especially since I planned to buy them but couldn't due to the fact it was too expensive. I was ecstatic, until I found out he'd stolen my credit card to buy them. FML
Today, it's my 16th birthday. My parents forgot about it, and planned a weekend out of town. I was alone on my birthday. FML
Today, it's my birthday. I'd asked my mom weeks ago if she could watch my kids, so my husband and I could go celebrate. She told me an hour before we were supposed to leave I'd have to reschedule, so she could watch my brother's kids while he goes out for fun. Gee, thanks mom. FML
Today, my boyfriend bought me Kings of Leon tickets for my birthday. Since he thought I was irresponsible, he gave the tickets to his mum so I wouldn't lose them. The show is today, and we can't find the tickets. FML
Today, my friend got a babysitter for the kids and told me she was taking me to a party. My son told me his band was playing at a party. I will be 40 tomorrow, so I thought this would be the best surprise birthday party ever. It WAS a surprise birthday party – for a friend of ours. FML
Today, I found my concert tickets that I've been trying to find for the last 2 weeks in my mom's closet. When I asked why she had them, she said she felt the concert was inappropriate for me so she hid them. I'm 20. FML
Today, it's my birthday and my mom took me and some friends to an amusement park. Looking for a tampon, I found a phone in my mom's purse that I didn't recognize. Turns out my mom is cheating on my dad. Happy birthday to me, I guess. FML

You know, just cause we're Moms doesn't mean our lives revolve around you! Especially, once you're a teen or grown! You're old enough to act better than this if you're old enough to babysit! so you would leave your older kids to babysit your younger kids on their birthday so you could go to a concert with your boyfriend, that seems exceedingly selfish. if you have kids its your responsibility to find a babysitter for them not foist them off on their siblings. Your oldest kids had no saying in your breeding more and shouldn't have to watch your kids.

#71, you are incredibly selfish, as pointed out by #76. It was YOUR damn decision to have kids, and if you didn't plan the baby, it's still your own damn fault. When you became a mom, you took on a big job. Your job is to always put your children first and take care of them throughout their life, because you're the reason they're on this planet. You must be a serious bitch to think it's okay to choose a boyfriend over your own child, especially on that child's birthday. You shouldn't have had children, you're far too selfish and idiotic to be a mother. By having children, you have given up your life. I'm 18, and my mom has always been there for me, and will always be there for me, just as she has been for my 31 year old sister. I hope your children grow to hate you so that they won't need you later in life, because obviously you aren't going to be there. Get yourself straightened out, your life must revolve around your children now. You deserved the stomach flu you got if you're always this bitchy and selfish. You need to grow up. Plenty of people get horribly sick on their birthdays, but that's not as bad as being abandoned by your family so they can go do their own thing on your birthday, especially your own mom. Get your priorities right.

Let me guess, you're owed a birthday present just because it's your birthday? Maybe the boyfriend gave the mom the money to get the tix. If mom supports OP, then anything she gives as a gift should be appreciated and babysitting is not too much to ask! OP can always move out! A parent's obligation ends at adulthood...
