Today, in the middle of my online midterm, my computer decided to update and closed out of the test. It can't be retaken. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I turned in my final worth 20% of the grade. Today was also the day my internet decided to die. FML
Thanks, Bill
Today, I was busy writing my English final paper and all of a sudden my computer just chose to freeze. I thought Microsoft Word would save it, but alas, 4 pages down the dumpster. Plus my earphones stopped working and I can't afford to buy a new pair. FML
Today, I tried to turn in a final exam online. When I went to check if it had been submitted, Blackboard told me it did. My grade told a different story. FML
Today, my entire junior class took the ACT. On the last test, a classmate's phone went off, automatically invalidating the whole test. We all have to retake it. FML
Surveillance
Today, I took a online midterm for a 400 level class I need to graduate this winter. I didn't realize that Proctorio links your computer to your phone, so when I opened my phone and googled the exact question, it gave me a notification on my screen which Proctorio screen recorded. FML
Ghosts!
Today I woke up feeling good and ready for my online business class final, only to find that it had somehow been submitted and graded with a zero. FML
Today, my computer crashed and lost all of its data while I was making a back up. FML
Likely story
Today, I was doing an online live exam with the camera on when the power suddenly went out. FML
Today, I accidentally left my textbook at home. Normally this wouldn't be an issue, but today was my class final. Since it was an open-book final, I'd decided not to study for it. I'm pretty sure I failed. FML
Roommates from hell
Today, I was taking a final test online that would account for 65% of my final grade, for which I'd worked extremely hard. I had one submission for the test, and my roommate thought it would be funny to click the "Submit All" Button while I was getting a glass of water. I got a 13%. FML

Usually they can tell when it has been opened and not sent. I am sure if you explain it, your teacher would let you retake it. Especially since half the teachers have called help desk for problems, can't expect you not to have any.

Well it wont be a retest it'll be more of a resume-test.

I hate that windows update, it hides from you, then restarts. I know how you feel. FYL. Go to Linux or disable the update in windows.

That sucks! But maybe you can talk to someone... In the meantime you can keep studying lol.

Look at your windows update history to see if any of the install times coincided with the testing period... You should show that to your examiner and pray that it exonerates you... Good luck!

35 - I agree. It wouldn't hurt to give it a try to ask for a retake.

Holy crap, for anyone that says OP deserves it just wait until something technologically awful happens to you! Computers always seem to screw us over when we most depend on them to not.

I do think OP deserves it. I work with computers so you think something technologically awful never happened to me? And I always think that it's my fault whenever that happens. Machine cannot think by itself. Whenever something wrong happened, there must be a reason. Whenever it happens it always caused by human error/neglect. Blaming a PC for auto update is like blaming a car for not having coolant in its radiator. It's user's fault.

70, If you work with computers you know files can become corrupted without user error or neglect, but otherwise what you said is correct.
