Today, my computer crashed and lost all of its data while I was making a back up. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Time to rebuild
Today, my computer crashed and corrupted my games files and deleted over 100 hours of saved data. I have to now start all over again. FML
Gotta keep those data centers irrigated
Today, my house was broken into and my computer was stolen. Fortunately, I have cloud backups of all my work; unfortunately, hardware prices have gone through the roof and I won't be able to replace that computer soon. FML
Restore device
Today, I woke up to find out that my phone, which contained all of my pictures and videos from the past year, had completely crashed. Despite trying everything, I couldn't recover any of the data, even from the cloud backup. All those memories, gone forever. FML
Today, my computer stopped working. Me, the technology challenged one, decided to do a system recovery on it hoping that I could make it better. Turns out, system recovery means deleting all the files off the computer including family photos, music and assignments and starting fresh. FML
Today, I got a new computer because my old one crashed, deleting all music, photos, and documents. I still had all my music on my iPod though, and went to sync it to the new computer. By accident, my younger brother pulled the cord out before it was done, deleting all 3,000 songs forever. FML
Get on with it!
Today, I went to turn in a coding project a few days early. After months of working on a code and saving backups, everything is gone or corrupted. I have to start from square one and turn it in less than 48 hours from now. FML
Thanks, Bill
Today, I was busy writing my English final paper and all of a sudden my computer just chose to freeze. I thought Microsoft Word would save it, but alas, 4 pages down the dumpster. Plus my earphones stopped working and I can't afford to buy a new pair. FML
Genius move
Today, the new office IT guy figured the best way to get the virus off my computer was to wipe my entire hard drive. He was kind enough to back my data up and restore everything from the backups. Including the virus. FML
Today, I lost two terabytes' worth of photos to a friend's incompetence. He said he could save me some money and fix my slow computer for free. He ended up wiping the hard drive, and along with it, my photography portfolio from the last five years. FML
All that for nothing
Today, due to some highly corrupted data that I had nothing to do with and no control over, around 5 years of pixel art I'd made, and spent most of my free time working on, has been permanently deleted, and there is no way to recover it. FML

Did you try turning it off and on?

That has got to be one of the worst feelings ever. Did you throw the monitor to the ground?

It was such a terrible feeling, haha, I just froze in my spot staring at the computer and trying not to cry... I couldn't get my old data retrieved but I did buy a new laptop! :)

I recognised that singing a just for the machine made song always make them feel better.feel better = work better.works for all my electronic things: notebook, microwave and vacuum cleaner.

That's happened to me, too, unfortunately. That's when I started making regular back ups, and you should, too. It's no fun losing your data.

I've had it happen to me before also. It is very annoying. Luckily I didn't lose any important data since I back mine up every month or so.

Rolling backups are easy to do in this day in age. Most services are free, so this is something everyone should do.

It was a very old laptop, and though I should have backed it up before, it's never broken down, so I trusted it, and it was my first time after an extremely long time. But now that I have a new laptop, I definitely back it up often! Not making the same mistake again.. Haha

Hard drives aren't always the most reliable, unfortunately.

most people try too hard with their puns, you however don't appear to have tried at all.

You should feel bad how awful that pun was... if that's even what you would call it

I cringe every time I hear about something like this happening. I'm sorry OP I would not wish such a fate upon my worst enemies.
