Today, in algebra, I took out my notebook. My Chinese teacher was so impressed with my "Chinese" writings on the cover that I'm now her "favorite student". Those "Chinese" symbols are actually Japanese, but I wanted someone to like me so badly that I didn't correct her. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, at a tutoring center, one of the tutors looked at my worksheet and laughed. She then showed all the other tutors my mistakes and they laughed along with her. The best part? They all speak Chinese and they think I can't understand them. I'm Chinese. FML
Today, I got a perfect score on my French quiz, and I was told to have my mom sign it. What I didn't realize was that all the way at the bottom she wrote "Good Nathaly!" and "I love you!" surrounded by little hearts. The teacher hung it up anyway. FML
My words exactly
Today, the Chinese student I've been teaching English to got on stage in front of hundreds of people to read her final essay. She ended with, "What a fucking day." I don't swear, and I no longer have a job. FML
Today, I had to make a poster for social studies. I decided to write "Nice ass" in hieroglyphics. Turns out my teacher can read hieroglyphics. FML
Today, my art teacher showed off a painting of his name he got in Japan. I can read Japanese, and it actually says "Old idiot". I really don't want to break it to him. FML
Today, I collected my students' notes in class to check them. One girl, who is always drawing weird anime crap in her sketchbook, turned in just one piece of paper that read, "FUCK YOUR CLASS." FML
Today, in calculus, our substitute teacher told me I was smart. Everybody in the class, including my friends, burst out laughing. FML
And they call it puppy love…
Today, I gathered the courage and wrote a love letter to put in the girl I like's school bag, at the end of classes. I felt anxious for a response. Her bag turned out to be her cousin's, and I became a joke in the classroom. FML
Nice try
Today, I cheated on a math test by writing a couple of equations on my hand. Totally satisfied, I handed my test in, feeling like I had aced it. As I was heading toward the door, I happily waved goodbye to my teacher. She saw everything. FML
Slipping up
Today, I was teaching a class when a student pointed out that I'd used the wrong "your/you're" while writing on the board. FML

Had you been honest and corrected her, I would have liked you more.

Japanese Kanji and Chinese characters are the same, stupid. Kanji literally mean: Chinese characters.

If you dumbasses bothered to read the post you would've known the teacher wasn't teaching Chinese. She's an Algebra teacher who is of Chinese race. He/she is probably Chinese who was raised somewhere else. It's a common mistake to confuse Chinese with Japanese symbols.

Actually it's not.

Many of the characters ARE the same. It's not a matter of mistaking one for the other, it's merely the same character being used in both languages. There are ones that were simplified, but many are still the same. I'm Japanese, and I read Chinese signs and some of the news headlines etc because you can understand, due to the many shared characters...

You know that Chinese and Japanese shares some of the same characters? For example, the words 'love', 'moon', 'fire', and 'water' all share the same characters. It's likely your teacher assumed that, as you're in Chinese class, it was Chinese, especially if they were just random characters as opposed to a sentence.
