Today, I woke up two hours early to go to the physical therapist my doctor referred me to. She did confirm physical therapy will help, but she doesn't treat my issue. She’s also the only person in my city who takes my insurance. FML

Today, I finally saw a physical therapist for frequent right hip pain that was interfering with my sleep schedule and causing that specific area of my leg to atrophy from not using it as much. After doing all of the stretches, the pain doesn't seem to have improved, despite him recognizing what the problem was. FML
Today, I woke up with a bad headache yet again. I've tried changing pillows, mattresses, lifestyle changes, gotten massages, been to different doctors, gotten MRIs, been to a chiropractor and theaphysio. The only thing that worked was the physio, but my circumstances changed and I can no longer afford it. FML
Today, the psychiatrist who I've been relying on to evaluate my condition to give me some real help, who I've been waiting on my appointment with for three months, suddenly rescheduled me until February next year. Why? Because she's "not working that day". I can't afford to see anyone else. FML
Today, I was rear-ended while heading to my appointment with my physiotherapist. This is the physiotherapist I am seeing to treat the pinched disc I got from being rear-ended 6 months ago. FML
Today, I made an appointment with a therapist because lately I've been feeling alone and like no one cares about me. I waited at her office for about forty minutes before the receptionist informed me that she must have forgotten about the appointment. Even my therapist stands me up. FML
Today, I went to the doctor with some serious physical symptoms that amount to being effectively disabled. She didn’t even ask any questions or examine me before telling me it was all purely psychological. I barely managed to convince her to at least order some blood tests, as a formality. FML
Today, my therapist told me she can’t see me by herself anymore because frankly I have so many problems, I need separate therapists, each with their own specialties, to work together on me as a team. I didn’t think it was that bad. FML
Today, I went to a pain specialist to get help with my chronic pain. He did not diagnose anything or discuss causes. He then said, "Good luck with that" as I left. Of course, I still got billed. FML
Today, I had a doctor's appointment. I left with referrals to both a dermatologist and a mental health professional. FML
Today, I was out with friends when one of them started complaining about having to spend $50 on two copays for his therapist. He makes more a week than I do in three, and I can't even get seen by any type of healthcare professional because nowhere is accepting new patients. FML

Therapist: "How much would your insurance cover?" OP: "About tree fiddy." It was then that the therapist realized that OP was 8 stories tall and a crustacean from the paleozoic era. That damned Loch Ness Monster had gotten her again. "Damnit monstah, I ain't givin' you no tree fiddy!" (I know it's weak but that's the best I could come up with)

That sucks. What kind of injury is it? Sometimes you can use another professional like a chiropractor. Besides that it looks like you either have to pay yourself or go to another city. FYL.

^Exactly. Maybe try a different method instead? I have chronic back pain due to scoliosis, and I tried massage therapy, physiotherapy, and acupuncture, none of which helped. Finally I found a chiropractor that does Active Release Therapy, and it's the only thing that relieves some of the pain. Obviously I don't know your actual issue, but it's possible a different type of practitioner could help too.

Wow that sucks. I'm really sorry for you about this. I've been getting PT on and off for since I was a kid by the same therapist. Actually seeing her again as I've been coming off my 19th surgery. Maybe look into nearby cities or something. Hope something turns up and you get better.

She should be able to provide basic physical therapy care. That is what all PTs are trained for... So OP maybe needs some advanced techniques... ouch.

Call your insurance company and explain your situation. I had a similar situation. No dr who treated my condition and was within 50 miles accepted my insurance. Cigna negotiated with a Dr in my area to accept the insurance on a single-person basis.

As someone who's worked for one of the biggest health insurers in America for almost a decade: if no one else in your area will accept your insurance, and she's confirmed that she cannot treat your issue, your insurer will be able to authorize an out-of-network physician to treat you, and create what's known as a "single case agreement", which is basically a one-off contract where the OON physician agrees to treat you & your insurance agrees to pay them the negotiated rate.
