Today, I was volunteering at a local hospital. I was eagerly introducing myself to all the nurses, as I would be working with them all summer. It wasn't until I got home that I discovered the giant piece of lettuce stuck in my front teeth. So much for first impressions. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I came back to my dormitory after a long shift at work. After using the toilet, I looked at myself in the mirror, only to find a huge piece of food stuck between my front teeth. I work at one of the fanciest restaurants in town; nobody bothered to tell me anything. FML
Kinda cruel
Today, I overheard coworkers talking about someone showing up with lettuce or something in their teeth. I laughed and joked it “could never be me.” Later, in the bathroom mirror, I discovered I’d had the same exact green blob stuck between my front teeth for hours. FML
Today, I got off work and checked my makeup in the mirror once I got in my car. I had a huge piece of spinach on my front tooth that no one told me about. I work the front desk of an upscale hotel and have been greeting guests all day. FML
Today, at the orthodontist, the nurse was checking my teeth. She asked me a question while her finger was in my mouth, and when I stupidly tried to reply, I bit her finger. FML
Pleased to meet you
Today, I was volunteering at the hospital. This lady was calling the Nurses' Station, and I had to go see what she wanted. When I asked her what she needed, she mumbled something. As I leaned in closer to hear what she was saying, she threw up all over my face. Apparently, she was nauseous. FML
Today, I went out to lunch on my break. When I got back to work, I noticed I had something in my teeth. After trying to get it out with my tongue, I finally went to my car for some floss. I ended up pulling a 4 inch pube out of my back teeth. It certainly wasn't mine. FML
Today, I got bitten at work. Not by a patient's mouth, but by the false teeth they were holding in their hand as they clamped down on my arm. FML
Ewwww, gross
Today, at my job serving, I went to clear the plates when a guy said, "Hold on a second." Thinking he wasn't quite finished, I went to put the plate back. He then reached into his mouth, pulled out a dark brown object and threw it on the plate. It was a rotten tooth. I almost puked. FML
*buys case of Listerine*
Today, I wasn't feeling well at work. While I was in the bathroom losing my lunch, a very large piece of food came up. The resulting splash of toilet water went straight up into my mouth. FML
Today, I was at my job as a dental assistant and I was told to take an X-ray of a woman's teeth. As soon as I put the foam piece into her mouth, she projectile-vomited all over me and the floor. I had just started my 5-hour shift. FML

I don't think a lettuce stuck in your teeth should make you worry about leaving a bad impression. It's no big deal

I feel like this more appropriately suites the "nearly FML" category. If lettuce stuck in someone's teeth has become the face of FML, there needs to be a serious quality check on this site. As for this FML: shit like this happens daily. Food stuck in your teeth has a terribly small effect on a first impression, believe it or not. I think you're thinking this whole thing over more than anyone you introduced yourself to today.

It's not the worst thing that could happen on your first day!

Considering there are much worse things that could've happened it may have just been a blessing in disguise. And I would be more concerned that nobody thought to let you know.

It's embarrassing as hell to discover food in your teeth, even if no one cared. That's why it's an FML. There have always been plenty of stories like this on this site.

That was crappy on their part, NOT ONE person could have pointed it out? Shoot, I've pulled male strangers aside and quietly told them to fix their fly

"Oh, hey, did you meet the new girl?" "…yeah." "What was your impression of her?" "Terrible! She had a piece of LETTUCE stuck in her teeth!" "OMFG! LETTUCE? Can we fire volunteers?!"

Well lettuce is one of the worst of the vegetables.

Most people usually let you know if you have something like that stuck in your teeth. So either they're all dicks who wanted to see how long it would take for you to notice, or most of them didn't even notice it themselves.

Too bad Deadpool wasn't there, I bet he'd tell you

Don't worry. Use it as a joke to break the ice in future conversations. Being self-effacing is a good thing in this situation and this is a good and harmless way to do so. You are doing an amazing thing, and shouldn't let such a small thing embarrass you or get you down. If, on the off chance, you encounter someone who wants to make it a larger thing, it will reflect poorly on them, not on you.
