Today, I went on a date with someone I've been talking to online for weeks. Unfortunately, it turns out they'd used old photos and misrepresented themselves, and I didn't find them attractive at all. Even I'm not that desperate. We ended up having an awkward dinner and I couldn't wait for it to be over. FML

I try to get the pic exchange thing over with sooner rather than later. You don't want to get emotionally invested in someone who is not going to accept your appearance.

If it makes you feel better, my boyfriend is like the least photogenic person on the planet, but I think he's hot in real life. Maybe you're the type who would do better meeting people in person. I met him at a party, and ended up being the one to ask him out in the first place.
