Today, I was stabbed because a mugger got mad that I was broke. FML

Hey Everyone, OP here. Thanks for all the support and making me laugh. Luckily he hadn't taken anything of value, although he had taken my shoes(ridiculous, I know). I was walking home from my job because my bike was also stolen. Again, FML. I had accidentally left my wallet at my house which is lucky for once. After being stabbed, someone had seen me bleeding, so they called 911. I'm no longer in the hospital as the wound wasn't serious, so I'm doing slightly better. Again, Thanks for the support.

Oh my gosh that's so terrible what the heck is wrong with people... the mugger could have just found another victim (which of course is terrible too but at least not threatening to someone's life like stabbing can be)

When my band would play cities like Detroit I'd carry my money and cards in my sock and put a $50 in my wallet for this very reason. Sorry man.

The best thing to do when being mugged is to throw your wallet away from you and run. The mugger will usually choose to go after your wallet over you giving you the chance to escape. As much of a pain it would be to replace everything it's a lot better than losing your life.
