Today, I was sitting on the couch with my family. They didn't even notice me there until the dog started barking at me because I took his spot. My mom defended the dog, and now I'm sitting on the floor while a Pomeranian takes up half the couch for himself. FML

My family has a Pomeranian too. I usually have to stand or sit in the kitchen.

Taking up the majority of the space on a couch or bed has been a trick of the felines for many years- I guess dogs and cats have something more in common than being cute and fuzzy after all.

That's a little absurd. Our dog is a lot bigger and she acts like a lap dog. One of the many compromises you have to make. Talk to your mum. They don't take much room

Same here. I ESPECIALLY hate people who think that small dogs are just little dolls to endlessly pamper and raise them to be spoiled rotten, aggressive little assholes. That's why dogs like chihuahuas get a bad rap. They're super sweet if their owners raise them right.
