Today, I was given a $100 cookbook as a gift by a co-worker. The man who shares a desk with me didn't realise it was mine, as he was at lunch when I got it, so he decided to give it to my boss when he walked in. My boss is refusing to return it. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
What?
Today, my coworker got a raise by making our boss give me a pay cut for doing his job while he was slacking off. As we were heading home for the day, he found $100. FML
Today, for what has seemed to be the hundredth time, my labeled bagged lunch was stolen from the fridge at my workplace. I stormed into my boss's office ready to complain, only to find him eating it. FML
Under new management
Today, I got a talking-to at work from my new manager for eating other peoples' lunches. Immediately afterwards, I watched my manager leave the room, take MY lunch, and begin eating it. Apparently my new manager is the thief, and I'm now the office pariah who gets the blame. Nobody believes me. FML
Well played
Today, during lunch, my coworker offered me her food, claiming she was full. I was still quite hungry, so I accepted it. Halfway through eating the sandwiches, my boss walked in and started interrogating people over who took his lunch. I quickly realized I was the one eating it. FML
Today, we got our Christmas bonuses. Instead of money, the company decided to give us all lunch boxes with the company name on them. I went ahead and put my lunch in mine, then put it in the break-room refrigerator. Apparently so did all the other employees. Now I can't find mine. FML
Wealth gap
Today, a coworker threw my lunch in the trash. They'd just got back from holidays, and I use the same containers they do. My leftovers "looked like something they'd eat", so they thought it was something they'd forgotten before going on holidays. It was leftovers that I'd been spacing out, trying to make last till payday. FML
Today, when I went to work, my nice coworker gave me a gift basket. And cookies. I had to tell him that I caught his kid keying my car last night. FML
Today, I went with my sister to her company Christmas party. They had a gift raffle, my number was called and I won $25 for a local restaurant. A few moments later, the manager came over and said, "You don't work here? You can't have that" and took it from me. FML
Today, I went and bought lunch for all the people I work with. The only meal the place forgot was mine. FML
Today, I gave my boss a gift card as a late birthday present, since I wasn't in the office on his actual birthday. He accused me of trying to bribe my way to a promotion, and suspended me on the spot. FML

Get your other co worker to vouch that it was a gift and report your boss for theft. Unless your company as a strict policy against gift giving.

Your boss and co-worker sound like terrible people.

Just report it, call the police, something. Don't roll over and take it. This is ridiculous behavior from coworkers, especially bosses. Absolute bull.

report him for theft

Go to HR and speak to them. You are the rightful owner and can go to the police. Then start looking for a new job. The boss will make your current one hell.

I don't understand your desk mates thinking... oh a cookbook on my shared desk! It couldn't possibly be my deskmate's.

just wanted to throw this out there but your boss and co worker committed a felony. theft of anything over $50 is a felony... so... they might want to return it. also who in the hell just picks something up at work and regifts it? There would've been an excellent possibility of it being someone else's property.

Excellent possibility? More like almost certainty.

Why would your desk mate give away something that he knew wasn't his, just because he didn't know who it belonged to?

I would go over your bosses head and report him as well as your co-worker. That creates a hostile work environment. (Grounds for firing.)

I feel like I just read a summary of a Seinfeld episode that was never actually made.

Go Over Your Bosses Head, Get The Co Worker To Back You Up That It Was A Gift.
