Today, I was driving a little over the speed limit, when I saw a cop car waiting to join the road ahead of me. I quickly hit the brakes so they wouldn't have a payday with me. I hit the brakes too hard, lost control and almost ended up on someone's lawn. FML

Today, I was speeding a little on the highway. I thought I saw a police car, so I slammed on my brakes, causing the person behind me to rear end me. The "police car" I saw was just a broken down car on the side of the road. FML
Today, while driving extremely fast on a road in the middle of nowhere, I started to go down a hill. Noticing a police car at the bottom, I slammed my brakes and blew a tire in the process. It turns out the police car was an old cutout used to trick people. FML
Today, some aggressive asshole was tailgating me on my way home, bumping into me twice. I got scared and kicked my car into high gear and got out of there. Seconds later, a traffic cop came out of nowhere and pulled me over for speeding. FML
Today, while driving home, I saw a cop with a speed gun "hidden" by the side of the road. I went to slow down so the fuck-knob wouldn't be able to ticket me. I then had a brain-fart and floored the gas instead of hitting the brakes. Hello speeding ticket. FML
Today, I crashed into a pole on purpose as a cop pulled me over for speeding. I figured the officer would feel bad for me and that the cost of fixing my car would be less than a ticket. He gave me one anyway. FML
Today, while I was driving, a police officer jumped out from the sidewalk and into my lane. I slammed on the brakes so I wouldn't hit him. He then gave me a ticket for "obstructing traffic." FML
Today, I was driving with my grandma and she was going 30 over the speed limit. To slow her down, I said, "Hey look, the police". She slammed on the brakes so hard I hit my head on the dashboard. FML
Today, a cop almost rear-ended my car, slammed on the gas with no warning, swerved around me, flipped me the bird, then cut me off and then drove a full ten miles under the speed limit. When I changed lanes to overtake him, he pulled me over for road rage. FML
Today, I accidentally rear-ended an undercover police car. FML
Today, I was tailgated on the highway. There was a car in the lane next to me, and my tailgater was WAY too close to risk slowing down, so I sped up in order to switch lanes, which bumped me over the speed limit. That's when my tailgater turned on the flashing lights. FML

If you were only going "a little" over, you should know you dont need to slam on the brakes to go back under. So either you were going more than a little, or you're just a dumb driver. YDI

Why are you even driving an automobile if you can't control it properly? Did you win your drivers license from a gumball machine? I hope you learn from this and go to a road safety class asap! You must have control over your car in normal and extreme driving conditions.

Congratulations you now know why there was a speed limit there, imagine how much worse that would have been If you were going more then a little faster. People tend to forget, at least in the UK cops don't set speed limits city/Road planning people do, and they want people to get places fast

While remaining safe. The speed limits are a maximum for safety, not a target to aim for that is set low to inconvenience you and cost money, the people who do set it it helps you to get places fast as they have to plan around traffic jams

OP lost control because he braked too hard not because he was going to fast. You can be doing the speed limit and still lose control if you brake to hard.

You're an idiot. Just let off the gas. Braking is the best way to let them know you were speeding. Duh.
