Today, I was at a swim meet. I was on a relay team and I was the anchor. My team was in 1st. I was ready to dive in when I saw my tampon string was hanging out of my suit. I freaked, slid off the block, and fell on top of the guy before me and gave him a concussion. We got DQed for a false start FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Denied!
Today, I swam in a race against all of the girls in the midwest in the hardest, longest, most grueling race you can swim. I won. Happy but so tired I could barely move, I looked up to see my time. I had been disqualified. For flinching. Before the race started. FML
Today, a new session started for my swimming squad. I walked down to the pool, tripped over a stray equipment bag, and belly-flopped into the pool in front of everyone, fully clothed. I'm the coach. FML
Sick moves, bro
Today, we were hanging around the pool with a couple of friends and a crush of mine. Thinking I would be able to impress her with a well-performed dive off the diving board, I went up and attempted my best dive. I slipped as I jumped, hitting my head on the board. I had to be saved by the lifeguard. FML
Today, at my volleyball tournament I was extremely pumped to start playing so I went to take my sweats off and everybody began to stare at me then I looked down to come to realize I had no spandex on, just a thong. FML
Today, I went swimming. While I was walking along side of the pool, everyone was staring at me. I began to think that my diet was really working. It was only an hour later, in the changing rooms, that I noticed the string from my Tampax that was sticking out of my swimming costume. FML
Today, I went to the pool. When I hit the water the top of my swimsuit came off so I tried to put it on underwater. The lifeguard thought I was drowning and pulled me out in front of everyone. Topless. FML
Bellyflop
Today, I tried to impress our swim team coach by doing a complicated backflip from the diving board. I landed face-first in the pool and had to be rescued by the lifeguard, so I guess I won't be going to the Olympics any time soon. FML
Today, my tampon string was hanging from my bathing suit. My boyfriend thought it was a thread hanging from my bikini bottom. He publicly pulled out my tampon. FML
Today, I had a gymnastics meet. I thought I was done with my period, but when I was up on the beam warming up my routine, one of my coaches called me down and told me that I apparently wasn't. My coach goes around asking my teammates moms if they had any pads. My dad caught this all on tape. FML
Today, I was at a swim meet, swimming as hard as I'd ever swum before. During the last lap I saw no one in the lanes next to me. Thinking I was first, I became extremely excited. When I came to the wall, I realized the reason no one else was around: They already finished the race. I was last. FML

#1 I'm glad your life goal is now complete. OP: You deserve it. Sorry, but if you're going to put yourself in any kind of high pressure situation with others counting on you like that, you gotta get over little things like tampon strings.

LOL. #1 your a jerk. anyway, that sucks, but if your a girl, how did you fall on top of a guy? girls and guys dont swim relays together. anyway its not like you could do anything about it right before you dove off, so it woulda just been easier to swim the whole thing and tuck it back in when you finished and were still in the water. its not that big of a deal i mean everyone knows girls have to wear tampons when they swim.

Guy and girls relays DO exist, but they occur mostly in really bad meets and with young kids. If she was in HS I call BS, because she was anchoring. A somewhat decent JV guy swimmer can beat all but the state level girls in sprints in swimming. Very few state level swimmers are going to be swimming on coed relays. For people who dont know, you put your fastest swimmer on anchor in free relays. Most was said before but as a competitive swimmer for over 10 years I have some experience in these matters.

Wow. Just wow. Unless something serious is going on, you don't get off that block for anything. Certainly not for a tampon string. I mean come on, who cares. Not only that but, you gave the guy a concussion over it. #22 obviously didn't watch the olympics. he could obviously see how fast women swimmers are. and how capable they would be at anchoring a race on a guys team.

#7 "...co-ed relays don't exist in competitive swimming The Mushroom Kingdom." What?

I hate to say it but a serious athlete would care about that after the race and now you pissed off the whole team because you were more concerned with your tampon than you were with the race. YDI
