Today, I took my two kids to a Christmas festival with a train theme. I spent $24 on conductor hats for them. When I gave them the hats, they threw them on the ground and put the red paper bags they came in on their heads. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I spent my entire paycheck on a new summer wardrobe. I then left my shopping bags on the train. FML
Freakout
Today, I took my kids to the circus. We were having fun, right up until the point they saw an old man dressed as a clown, at which point they screamed, grabbed onto my shorts, and managed to accidentally pull them down. FML
Scratchy
Today, my kids and I discovered the party hats from the party we just went to were infested with lice. FML
Queasy
Today, I tried being the 'cool parent' by taking my kids to a fancy, expensive amusement park, but ended up getting stuck on every ride and getting motion sickness. FML
Today, I took the 6 year old I'm babysitting to the mall to see Santa after weeks of her begging. We got there in time to see him get out of his Prius and dress in the parking lot. FML
Today, with the cost of craft supplies that ended in a DIY fail, then a costume and overnight shipping, I have now spent $90 to obtain a $10 hat and vest for my daughter to play a cow in the school Christmas play. She will say "Moo" three times with 5 other cows before leaving the stage. FML
Cats are the same
Today, my son was playing with a piece of plastic wrapping and trying not to let it fall to the floor as if it were a balloon. This is after he got some kick ass gifts for Christmas. Kids. FML
The Nerf of some people
Today, I took my son to festival at a local church. He had a Nerf gun as part of his costume, but when I set it down to put something in my bag, someone walked off with it. We can't even go to a church function without running into thieves. FML
Today, I took my daughter to see Santa at the mall. When I went to pick her up from Santa's lap, my watch snagged on his beard, pulling it off in front of my daughter and about twenty kids in line. My daughter still isn't speaking to me. FML
Rip it up and start again
Today, I finally finished my Christmas shopping and felt like an absolute champion. That was until I got home and realized I'd left one of the shopping bags in the parking lot. The bag contained the most expensive gift I'd bought. FML

simplicity is key...these children got it right.

Right?? If it was about simplicity, they'd have asked the mom for paper bags and that's it. The story we've been told is about spoiled bratty kids throwing away expensive gifts as if they were trash. It doesn't matters that they 'preferred the bag', they still shouldn't treat a present their mom paid a lot of money for, as if it was trash to discard. It's bad manners and a huge waste of money. Doing so doesn't make them simple, it makes them bratty entitled kids that are so spoiled they think they don't have to respect their mom or the value of they family's money. Probably think money grow on trees and they can get whatever they want, too...

34, I don't recall the FML saying the kids asked for the hats. For all we know the mum could have purchased them thinking they would like them. The money thing also depends on how old the kids are. If they were to be 3-4 you really wouldn't expect them to know what's 'expensive' and what's not. Yes, what they did wasn't right and they should be sat down and explained to about how the hats cost money. If they were to have asked for the hats, then they're brats. Not necessarily spoiled since once again they MIGHT (they might know, and are spoiled) not know the values if money. In any occasion I wouldn't buy my son a hat that cost that much so OP deserves it for that as well. If they didn't ask for the hats and OP got them then OP deserves it.

You deserve it for spending $24 on something your kids obviously didn't care for.

How much do you girls spend on make up monthly?

red bags are cooler hats..(:

How vile! The children must be at least teenagers to be able to ejaculate in the bag, which makes one wonder how awful of a parent you are to have raised your kids to think wearing a semen-coated bag as a hat is appropriate.

I've never used a bag.
