Today, I told my class I was giving them 60 seconds to do a problem. A girl replied furiously "At least give us one minute!!" I teach a high school honors math class. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, one of my students corrected the problem I had solved on the board, explaining that you do multiplication before subtraction. I teach the second grade. FML
Today, I got told by my classmates to slow down because I put too much pressure on them. I'm taking a class in accounting for the first time in my life, we are all over 25 and so far we are doing basic math. FML
Kids…
Today, at my job as a teacher, I saw a student cut another student's hair, I stopped a group of students from eating glue, and I had to tell a student to put away the toy cars he was playing with. I teach high school math. FML
Today, in calculus, our substitute teacher told me I was smart. Everybody in the class, including my friends, burst out laughing. FML
Figure it out
Today, I listened to my roommate and her friend struggle with their math homework for an hour. It wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that I'm a math major and repeatedly offered my help. They'd rather fail math than be around me. FML
Today, one of my classmates asked the teacher to postpone her presentation because she had to study and the teacher happily agreed. When I approached her, the teacher started yelling at me because postponing deadlines is irresponsible. I just wanted to make sure we didn't need to bring our book. FML
Today, I learned, 90 horrifying minutes into a college exam, that my 85-year-old calculus teacher had spent the last three weeks teaching us the wrong chapter. FML
Today, at school I was sitting with a friend outside, talking about irregular periods and unshaven legs. Ten minutes into the conversation, a teacher sticks her head out the window above us and tells us to leave. We were distracting a classroom who were trying to finish a test. FML
Hammerhead
Today, I had to listen to my classmate loudly argue a question she got wrong on a test for half an hour, repeating the same incorrect argument ad nauseam. She screamed at the rightfully exasperated teacher for being "biased" when he gave up, and started screaming again when I tried to explain it in a different way. FML
Today, I asked my classmate if she was ready for the final tomorrow and she said it was yesterday. I'm not a bad student - I have 90+ average in the class - but the final was 50% of my grade. FML

I feel your pain, OP. Someone in my high school honors English class asked the difference between fiction and nonfiction. They were serious.

Tell her she has 60 Silver medals to do the problem and her chances of getting it right are minute.

...Mr. Chang? Is that you? Lol one my honors math class teachers said that a female student asked him the same question, in eerily the same way and scenario.

I guess understanding the measurements of time isn't a major focus of the standardized tests they make students focus on nowadays. Did you explain to the student that they should go find out what a minute was? I mean - before it's time to be a grownup? I just. I mean. Isn't this the sort of thing you're taught by the time you're maybe six or seven? Isn't the number of seconds in a minute something a person ought to absorb just because they've been alive and around other people, and had to know what time it was? Digital clocks are the norm nowadays, and they make it extremely obvious, don't they? Has your student never used a clock?

She was obviously asking for a Brazilian minute, which as everyone knows is 380 seconds long.
