Today, I got told by my classmates to slow down because I put too much pressure on them. I'm taking a class in accounting for the first time in my life, we are all over 25 and so far we are doing basic math. FML

Today, I got the best grade in class on my economics midterm. Rather than tell me I did a good job, my professor criticized me in front of everyone about how I was working "too hard". FML
Today, I was warned that I was failing too many students and it had to stop, so I showed my boss all of the easy assignments a lot of students didn't even turn in. She told me to stop using so many "big words" in them. I teach at a four year University. FML
Today, I told my class I was giving them 60 seconds to do a problem. A girl replied furiously "At least give us one minute!!" I teach a high school honors math class. FML
Today, I went to my first class of the semester. After an hour of intense note writing, I realized I was in the wrong class. FML
Today, in calculus, our substitute teacher told me I was smart. Everybody in the class, including my friends, burst out laughing. FML
Today, I found out that I've been taking the wrong math class all semester. We're only a few weeks from finals and I have no drops left. FML
Today, I listened to my roommate and her friend struggle with their math homework for an hour. It wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that I'm a math major and repeatedly offered my help. They'd rather fail math than be around me. FML
Today, a few people in my class used calculators on the math final exam, even though it clearly stated at the top that they weren't allowed. The teacher found out, and now everyone has to retake the 200-question exam. I didn't even use a calculator. FML
Today, I learned, 90 horrifying minutes into a college exam, that my 85-year-old calculus teacher had spent the last three weeks teaching us the wrong chapter. FML
Today, as I went into my calculus class, the teacher announced that someone had received a negative grade on the test we were getting back. I laughed and said, "Which f*cker managed to get a negative?" Turns out I'm the dumbass. FML

Did they all say that or some? Some people learn differently..Some a lot slower than others. However, I'm guessing studying accounting means you should already know basic maths?? Anyway, I'm sure you can speak to the tutor to provide further advanced math for you to study independently.

Im curious to know exactly what kind of math you're going over. Accounting can be complex and all, but the math itself is most certainly not. It's nothing the average person hasn't already covered at some point in school.

people who are older tend to take lonter when learning new things. Maye they were never taught how to do basic math correctly at a young age and just depended on calcuators.

it's college, and they're all adults. you work at YOUR pace, and if they have a problem with that they can suck it up and step up their game.
