Today, for the first time in a month, I talked to someone in person besides my grandmother and my husband. It was a store clerk calling me "Miss" and asking if I was finding everything okay. FML

Today, for the first time in over a year, my mother actually called me. I excitedly picked up the phone. All I heard was rustling; her purse dialed me. FML
Today, I called one of my old coworkers to see how she was doing. My boyfriend answered the phone. FML
Today, I finally had a phone call after a week of nothing. It was my mother. It was by accident. FML
Today, I was addressed by name by the liquor store clerk. I've never told him my name. He's just seen my ID many times. FML
Today, I went to a grocery store after work, exhausted. I nodded politely at a woman who smiled at me repeatedly. I realized at checkout she thought I was someone she knew. I nodded through a full conversation without knowing who I was pretending to be. FML
Today, I went grocery shopping at the store near my house. Upon checking out, I look up to see that my cashier is none other than the woman I went on a date with a few months ago, and whose calls and texts I ignored after she began to obsess over me. FML
Today, a woman laughed after hearing my voice for the first time. This happens whenever I meet someone new, without fail. FML
Today, I had to go to the mall for a quick errand. While there one of my friends who works at a phone booth was there and I stayed for a little bit chatting with him. While chatting, a girl passed by. She was so pretty that I blurted out, "What a woman!" out loud. Turns out it was my ex. FML
Today, I was finally able to see my gran for the first time since lockdown. She told me off for not visiting sooner. FML
Today, I was visiting my new in-laws for the first time. During an awkward silence, I took my phone and figured I'd send my friend a text jokingly saying "Mayday, mayday! Somebody save me!" My mood lightened up a little and I felt quite well until my mother-in-law's phone beeped. Yep. FML

You sound isolated, and depressed about it. Find a group to join like a book club or something. If you have school aged kids start volunteering at the school. If you have younger kids join a mommy and me group. Just find SOMETHING that puts you in some sort of in-person social group.

That's what I hoped to figure out in this comments section: why would being called "miss" be an FML? And now you're getting downvotes for asking... I grow ever more confused. To everyone telling her she should get out more: A, I'm sure that has occured to her ffs (obvious advice is just so condescending, grr), and B, maybe she isn't withdrawing she's been sick or something and had no CHOICE but to stay home. Y'all are assuming a lot based on a two sentence post.

I'm sorry that the cult you joined doesn't allow you to have conversations with anyone but them. Did you sneak to the public library to get access to the internet to post this? or are you completely unable to make conversation with literally billions of people that you have access to?
