Today, I spilled my heart out to a guy by showing him one of my poetry journals. He read through it and said, "Wow, I feel sorry for the guy you wrote about." The poems were all about how I loved him. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I wrote a poem for this guy I am falling for. Before telling him that I wrote it, he read it and then laughed at how "corny and stupid" it was because he would "never date someone who could come up with something that lame." The poem was about how vulnerable he makes me feel. FML
Always the bridesmaid…
Today, my friend, on whom I have a crush since I can remember, read the most beautiful poem to me, which he'd written himself. After reading it, he said that it was for a girl he likes, and asked me if it was good. FML
National bard
Today, my boyfriend asked me to write him a poem, as I am an avid writer. Happily, I agreed. After hours of working, I proudly presented it to him. He read it, laughed, and said, "No babe, I meant a real poem." Maybe I should rethink my career choice. FML
Today, the person I've been trying so hard to get with wrote me a beautiful poem that almost everyone at my school saw and liked. It was about how we'd never be together. FML
Beautiful
Today, my boyfriend wrote me poetry. Here's how it went: "Roses are red, violets are blue, I suck at poetry, show me your tits." That's the most romantic thing he's done for me. FML
Love is…
Today, my boyfriend was reading me a poem he wrote for me. It was beautiful, and going really well… until he read the last line, which had a girl's name in it. It wasn't my name. My boyfriend said, "Shit, wrong girl", and dug through his bag for a different poem. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a really sweet poem that he wrote for me. I think it was secondhand - the first letter of each verse spelled his ex girlfriend's name. FML
Booksmarts
Today, I gave the guy I've been seeing a copy of my newly published book, because I know he loves writing. He started reading and commented on how amazing it was. Then he gave it back. He didn't realize it was a gift. My awkward self didn't correct him. I'd written him a sweet letter inside. FML
Today, I finally got the courage to confess my feelings to the guy I have loved for a year now in a long note. He called half an hour later and said, "I'm not going to read this crap, just tell me what it says". FML
Today, I spilled my guts out to my fiancé about some insecurities I've been having. I then turned to look at him through tears at his expressionless face as he texted someone. FML

I've never met a man that either a: liked sappy poetry or was b: able to read hidden meanings. Here's a hint........ just tell him outright! .... men, they may be pirates but they're crap at reading clues.

I don't mean to hurt you, but YDI. Writing poetry journals about guys is for 12-year-old girls who think they know what love is.

You don't have to show him your poetry to get him to notice you, just show him your ****. No need to thank me.

she didn't say anything about 19th century poetry... obviously if you're taught how to write, then you'll be better than someone who hasn't been taught lol

YDI for not having an appealing sense of poetry

YDI so much! That's creepy. Obviously he thinks it too. Grow up next time and tell the guy. Unless you're a stupid teenager, you have no reason to be creepy about it.

what the hell ever happened to people just saying hello, getting to know one another, and being honest in your feelings? all this unrequited love bull shit just irritates me

As a guy, I must say that's creepy, and very stupid. Next time, DON'T do that. Unless the guy is Shakespeare or gay, he won't give a shit about poetry.

YDI for thinking guys are into badly written teenage angst poetry. Next time just ask him if he wants to make out.
